How do you all approach large works small works? I get trapped in approaching a larger medium in a binary of (a) scale what you do up in size, or (b) extend what you do as though you're doing many small works in one.
For context, I do intricate work with collage, and I've only ever worked on papecards up to 6" x 4.5" over the past few years.
When I've focused on other art forms like painting, I didn't run into this as much because I could begin from just brush strokes and interacting in ways that wouldn't have been possible in confined space.
Collaging small detailed things, however, doesn't feel like it offers me much in that approach. The best approach I've daydreamed about has been a combination of large and small source material, except creating the large material separately out of small collage + a deliberate intention re: size and shape, so it can be used wholesale or divided up.
Thanks for any thoughts, regardless of your medium! I'd love any of your own ideas, anecdotes, etc., even if tangential, a bit unrelated, and so on. Large vs Small form is something I love to think about, coming from a new music background into art years ago.

We are both divorced and it's been about 10 years since his divorce. Honestly I've been feeling really unloved lately and haven't been acting the nicest to him. Unlike him though I actually feel bad about it.
I'm a stay at home thanks to him, I love being able to raise our children and take care of our home. I cook, I clean, I do laundry and take care of shopping. But honestly it's exhausting at times. I get little to no free time and if I do it feels like I have to ask permission.
My partner works and studies as he is in college. But he gets some free time to work out and do whatever he wants as he doesn't have set work schedule. It kind of bothers me as I don't really know what time he's coming home unless I ask. He sometimes already had his plans and I have no say.
Recently it was our anniversary and obviously valentine's just happened. But I received no gift.. while I went out of my way and spent some money I've been saving up on some really nice gifts. Also I got him a cake that in the end I got a comment from him saying "it's nothing special"..
He hardly ever makes plans to hang out with me. I'm lucky if he even takes me out to eat around town. He doesn't want to go on vacation as he says he has no money. I'm sometimes just tired of staying home though.
Idk how we got to conversation of me telling him he doesn't seem to care for anything. And he revealed he'd never cry for anyone else. It just really stuck with me. Am I not important enough? Surely I've gotten my heart broken a couple of times and my heart can still break again.
He hasn't messaged me all day not even to see how I am doing. I'm getting really depressed, I feel like everything I do is for nothing.
I'm not an ugly woman and am fairly still young but sometimes he makes me feel like im less than him. He thinks he's super young and fit and I'm just me.
Idk where I'm going with this but it does help to write things down. It doesn't help I guess I have no family or friends to talk to.

I bought this laptop (Evoo Gaming GTX 1650 model) about a year and a half ago. It has been through its fair share of use and carried me throughout many gaming sessions. Anyways, one day while playing Hi-Fi RUSH, the screen started messing up like the image would freeze and these weird (verticle) lines of the image starting from the top of my screen and then going 1/5th of the way would occasionally appear during cutscenes. I was worried at first but then it went back to normal.
Anyways, I continued playing and then it happened a SECOND time, this time it once again, started from the top but this time went a bit further than the last time and lingered on a little longer. I ignored again and kept playing. Then it happened a THIRD time and this time instead of only being at the top, it was also just below the middle and was blinking (Off and On I think, either that or it literally turned black) as well. Since I did nothing about it, it spread until the display of my laptop just SHUT OFF. I panicked and shut it down, and tried to turn it back on again shortly after thinking it was just a little oopsie my laptop had, but the screen wouldn't turn back on (After several restarts) for about another 15-25 minutes.
Anyways, when it started working again, there was a whitish outline around the corners of the screen which looked odd. But as I went back to doing normal tasks, it returned to normal again. However, ever since that day, my laptop has had these moments whenever certain colors would appear on screen or something (Happens with some websites, and some videos and whatnot. Even games count too.) the screen would start blinking and looking weird with these duplicate horizontal lines at the top of the screen and as the screen keeps blinking, the weirdness would keep going down. I tried troubleshooting it and found out I may have a dying graphics card but I don't think so. I'd really appreciate any advise or help I can get if this is actually fixable.

I am going to school and living in a different part of the country that I don't particularly like. I'm going to graduate soon and I will have the flexibility to pursue a career where ever I please. She, similarly, has a job that she could take anywhere she wants.
What's stopping me from moving to her? Nothing. I'm the kind of guy who could be content pretty much anywhere, but I just don't particularly care for the part of the country she's living in either. My logic is, I could either be pretty good, or pretty great. Why not be great?
I don't think it would make sense for me to take my career down to her, if she isn't happy there anyway. I similarly wouldn't feel comfortable asking her to move or alter her lifepath to accommodate me. Each of these decisions are our's to make alone independently, but the choices we make impact the other. We definitely don't owe each other anything, but I personally want to take her into consideration. I want to get a short list of potential cities to move to and hear her thoughts about which ones she likes more.
Hopefully she might feel inclined to move there too, but obviously, that's her call. She has expressly told me that she isn't happy where she's at; that's the only reason I would even consider doing this. The implications of this question are huge, but I feel a certain obligation to ask for her opinion because this really does affect her, even if it only affects her in the sense that we will or won't have a relationship. It's a question of whether she and I are generally pulling together in life.

Fascism offers a provocative critique of the contemporary world and the ongoing crisis of liberal democracy.
Fascists prey on young men's sense of humiliation and offer what historian of fascism Robert O. Paxton termed "Compensatory cults of unity, energy, and purity" that engage in "Redemptive violence." They assure these young men that their problems are not their fault, but rather come from the hands of "Globalist elites," feminist women and liberal "Degeneracy."
The liberal repudiation of fascism through the defense of electoral democracy and mainstream institutions is not enough to defeat the fascist menace.
Although we have much to learn from Anti-Racist Action, fascism is not the only enemy today.
Until we address these fundamental problems, fascism will continue to attract new followers.
In order to defeat fascism for good, we need to organize mass movements that address the root causes of our social crisis and fight for a better world.

2023.02.17 18:42 onlyfanspst Almost 24 hours since my last toke
I’m not sure if this is from tapering so low that I could miss a dose and replace it with half a spoonful of kratom or if it hasn’t even started yet but I have slight RLS and pretty dilated pupils but other than that no real WD symptoms. I was only consistently using for a month or so. I was going to get some Xanax off some kid I met in school and he wanted to go for lunch, I didn’t think I’d be able to with the WD symptoms but right now I feel fine. I’m starting to even reconsider the Xanax though they would hit pretty hard tonight with some weed. Iunno either way I’m going to ride this out and stay off any opiates as long as I can. I’m really hoping this being rhe 3rd withdrawal in 2 months and being like 3 weeks since the last relapse I’ve somehow mitigated how I react to coming off with a nice taper coupled with that as well.

I’m an incredibly casual fan so bear with me. I’m sure teams all over the country have been paying for players for years, but now with it out in the open, top recruits aren’t defacto choosing the traditional blue bloods and the sport is very much more competitive.
I have no interest in taking away from any of the coaches mentioned as far as scheme and mentorship , but it definitely doesn’t hurt to have a team with 8 or 9 legit NBA prospects.
