Downtown Las Vegas - where Vegas began - is located just a few miles north of the famous Las Vegas Strip. This area is being revitalized and is now full of energy and excitement. In downtown, you'll discover not just Las Vegas, but the ORIGINAL Las Vegas.
Not sure if this belongs here, but thought I would share anyway. I recently moved out of my old apt here in Las Vegas, because I couldn't take the noise, state of disrepair of the complex, and complete lack of caring on management's part.
I found a cute, little 1 bed and shared bath over by Whitney Ranch near the mountains, and my rent went from $1100 to now $675 ($775 after utilities). Everything about the house is great, and although the room I have is small, I feel better saving a bunch of money every month.
Fast forward to last week, and now I have the homeowners (who are in the Philippines) texting my roommate and I telling us to not turn the AC down past 76 EVER (again, this is Las Vegas). I told them I would try my best, but it does get hot here, esp since I have the upstairs room.
It was fine when we had 3 people, I could keep the AC at 72. Now that the 3rd person moved out, they're saying we can't put it past 76 because we're not paying enough to cover the utility bill. They even asked my other roommate for MORE money than he owes in the lease.
What should I do here? They can't tell me suffer and be hot and miserable just because they can't rent out their home while they're in the Philippines. I recommended they install solar panels, and they shot it down, saying they can't afford it. Any help or advice would be great thanks.
Hello I've loved new Vegas since the first time I played it, but I remember people hated new Vegas and even said it was the worst game in the franchise and during the fallout 4 hype bethesda made new Vegas uncannon and everyone was happy, now people are calling new Vegas the best game in the franchise and are upset that it's no longer cannon even though they were the same people who hated it and cheered when it was no longer cannon, I believe this is a real life example of how confused and dumb people are and honestly I feel I can no longer trust any reviewer or people giving opinions on video games because well come on this is pure evidence on the mental issues that clearly affects people's thought process and I know that people are gonna come back to fallout 4 and say it's amazing despite so many people currently calling it the worst game in the franchise right now SMH make up your mind people,I would like to hear everyone's opinions do you feel the way I do? Or do you feel the band Wagoning is understandable and I am the one that's delusional? Can't wait to read your comments much love.
I’m 70% percent convinced that there is non-Human reverse engineered technology in the hands of the military. Not just the US but other powerful nations too. When David Grusch came forward in the beginning of the week, I was 100% convinced. Even though we’ve had some other related news about other military men talking about other-worldly vehicles and the infamous fake Las Vegas Alien landing video, it seems that ALL of these stories lack the one thing that would make this whole thing irrefutable: Evidence.
David, the whistleblower, doesn’t have any evidence. No pictures or video. No documents. Even though he Is an unequivocable reliable source, his claims can only go so far. He has said he hasn’t seen any real evidence, but people close to him have seen it. Ross Coulthart said that on Sunday he is releasing a big chunk of the 7-hour interview he made with David. The thing is, if the whistleblower had some irrefutable evidence to show, wouldn’t that be the first thing that Ross would show to the world? Why make us wait until Sunday? I suspect it’s going to be more amazing claims but lacking any real verifiable evidence. Hope I’m wrong.
We also have a military man that claims to have seen a UFO the size of a football field that was being loaded with military equipment in Indonesia around 2009. Pretty amazing claims and the (sketchy) Daily Mail released some evidence to show he was stationed there. But again, he did not show any evidence of his claims. Supposedly he took video of the incident, but it was conveniently stolen from him while on a night while drinking with his buddies. So, more claims, zero physical evidence.
It looks like every day we get new claims made from military people and even regular civilians regarding the topic. I think there is something there, but none has provided the only thing that really matters: evidence. We only need one photo, video, documents, anything really that can’t be denied. But for now, nothing of the sort has been provided. That’s why even though I believe this is true, I remain skeptical. If it turns out to be true, it would be validation to all these people and I would be happy knowing that what I believed to be true turned out to be, well, true. But if it turns out to be fake, for whatever reason, then I know it will be a sad day, but I wouldn’t be so surprised. It would be time to move on from this topic and focus on other things.
I only ask that we should look at the facts. We should ask for evidence. Right now, it looks like it “MIGHT” be coming, but, isn’t that what they always say? That it’s coming real soon? Hopefully this time they really show us the smoking gun.
whats a decent scooter for door dash? around $600 max preferably. 8im 220 pounds, live in las vegas.
Tryna get like 25-40 mile range, speed doesnt really matter. Can’t go over $600 budget tho.
I am a former Korean Air force member who worked with USAF in a AFB in Korea.
I was doing my mandatory service for 2 years, as a translator, and because of the recent news about a UFO crash in Las Vegas, I was reminded of a UFO that me and several fellow airmen.
It was about 4pm on a clear Sunday, and a round-shaped object just swooshed from one end of the sky to the other.
The AFB which I served at had several fighter jets, so I am quite familar with the speed of it and the sound that it makes.
It was nothing like any of the fighter jets, even the most advanced ones.
It made no sound and it was faster than any objects that I have ever seen. It shined a little bit and moved around quite a bit, and it disappeared.
Everybody was freaked out (we were smoking when it happened) and didn't know what to make of it.
The next day, there was a short news article about alledged UFO sighting in a different city.
Anyone else have similar story?
[←Chapter 63] [Cover Art] [My Links] [Index] [Discord] [Subreddit] [Chapter 65→] In a rare moment, Sorore was actually having a nice dream, a normal one, one could even say. She was back home, in that moderately seized house in Erratz, laying on her mother’s lap. She could even hear the gentle sound that the needle made as it went in and out of the cloth. It was peaceful, pleasant, surrounded by familiar sound and smells, though her sight was blurry and confused.
It was not to last, as the sound of rushing water overtook all else, until she was forced awake by its unrelenting pace. When she sat up, rubbing her eyes in the broad bed, she released that it wasn’t the sound of water, nor was it relegated to her dreams. There was a commotion outside people talking in hushed but harsh tones.
Neither Lillian, nor Aya were within the room, and she wondered if they were having an argument. That wouldn’t be good - she’d watched them have the spat earlier, and that dispute didn’t need much worsening. Sorore crept to the door to the outer hallway - she loved how they slid to create whole new rooms. It was something she’d have to think about more she decided as she pulled it open and realised several things at once.
One, there were a whole lot of armoured figures in the hallway, at least four, maybe half a dozen. Two, the balcony door was open, and Lillian was currently arguing with one of them, Aya standing by looking like a mining explosive had gone off right next to her. Three, her brother and Niche had just emerged out of the room beside, and Niche was about to draw his sword at the sudden intrusion.
For a moment, she panicked, her mind going completely blank. Her mind raced with visions of bloody aftermath, and a chase through the city, back to the dinner she’d had with all those nice people.
“Oh, hello!” she blurted, drawing the surprised stares of several of the men, “who might you be?”
There was an instant of shocked silence between all parties.
“Nobody do anything!” called the man who was out on the porch, “We are representatives of the sand-shell legion, on behalf of the matriarch of the Eisen. We have come to retrieve her granddaughter.”
Niche lowered his hand from his sword belt, but Sorore could tell that he was ready to fight on a moment’s provocation. She also noticed that Kieren, in the same gown she’d worn to the square was standing in the stairwell. The woman looked so nervous Sorore thought she might fall over and down the stairs.
“Let’s move to a less cramped area,” said the captain, in a tone that brook no argument.
Eventually, it was sussed out, though not without considerable resistance on part of the paladins, that they were to meet in the great hall. As they sat, they were brought simple drinks of milk and honey, flavoured with something else that Sorore could not quite place. The two paladins looked like pacing cats, constrained on their chairs, arms crossed and eyes hard.
“Under no circumstances can we give one of ours into you custody,” said Lillian, locked in a match with the captain.
“Within the city, you are under the authority of the guard, no matter who you are. If the matriach has sent for this girl, then we have our orders.”
“As do we, captain,” said Niche, “to protect and guide each of these young women and… man, unto the holy lands of Angorrah.”
One of the guards flanking the captain whispered something in his ear.
“She’s not going to like it,” the captain said, then heard something else.
“Very well. Bloodshed before the Festival would be unwise. We have enough of that already. Right then, one of you paladins, assuming you are who you say you are, shall come with us and the lady to be received by the Eisen. I cannot say it’s likely you will have a happy reception. They will expect you to come unarmed.”
The paladins were bristling at the implied threat, and several hands were already dangerously close to their sword belts. Sorore gripped the mug that she was being offered, before Aya sat up and proclaimed to the group.
“Leave two of your men with us, then,” she said.
The captain’s eyes furrowed.
“I don’t wish to second guess you, my lady,” he said, “but why would I do that?”
“Trust,” Aya said, with a side long look at Lillian, “simple. If you leave your men with us, you can’t simply waltz off with me and my friend. Plus, it gives us men who know, and can quickly get around the city, so they can find you whenever they need to.”
The captain considered, and nodded.
“Very well my lady. Two men will be left for the disposal of your party members. But you shall have to come with us, immediately.”
“Me as well,” said Lillian.
“As you wish,” he said, “but you must disarm yourself. That is non-negotiable.”
Lillian was fuming, but unbuckled her belt and handed her armaments to Niche. The legionaries surrounded them, and departed with them out the front of the pyramid. They were left in front of the roaring fire, Kieren sitting beside them holding a considerably more full glass of the amber coloured alcohol.
“You said that this-” Niche began, his face reddened, “you sold us out!”
“Sold you out?” said Kieren incuriously as she swirled the glass around, “sold you out?”
The woman slammed down the glass on one of the nearby table, somehow not breaking it in the process.
“Maybe, you should of told us that you had the granddaughter of Aystara godsdamned Eisen in your retinue? No, forgot that little detail?”
“Okay, can we get this over with?” said Frare, picking at his nails.
“What?” said both the paladin and the trader, staring at the temerity of the youth.
“Blah, blah, we’ve all kept things from eachother,” he said, “so let’s all move on. Who is this ‘Aystara’? Why is she important?”
While Niche gaped at the casual ease from which Frare dismissed the turbulence, the trader seemed to settle.
“Only one of the two most powerful people in the city, young man,” she said, downing a shot from the glass, “between her and Edmund Poutash, it’d be easier to list what they don’t own. The docks, the schools, the farms… if you want an import or export licence? You go through her. You want to own a ship bigger than a rinky-dink fishing boat? You go through her or Potash.”
She finished the glass, and reached for the decanter, and stopped herself.
“And you waltz into the city, and conveniently forget to mention that you have her granddaughter, who hasn’t been in the city ever, if I remember correctly. To say she’d be furious that you didn’t bring the young lady before her immediately would be an understatement. And worse, you dragged us into it.”
“She must be awfully mean - you had nothing to do with us. You just hosted it.”
The woman blinked at the boldfaced remark, and Sorore delivered a good kick to his shins to drive the point home.
“No, no,” she ultimately said, “no I don’t think she’ll do anything to our family, if she believes us. She’s not unreasonable. At least, so I’ve heard. I’ve only met her once, and that was for a brief time. As for what she’ll do to you...”
She gave a pointed look at Niche.
“You tried to hid her granddaughter from her, maybe unintentionally, maybe not. If I were a betting woman, which I’m not, I would say that means trouble. If you want my advice-”
“I don’t,” said Niche, crinkling his noise.
“Don’t be stupid,” said Frare, before he howled at another kick.
Sorore’s face was burning with indignation and embarrassment. This was all too much.
“If you want my advice,” Kieren pressed on, “you’d go find and talk to your commander immediately. I could fetch for him if you wish - I know where Amicio’s home is.”
Niche, through narrowed eyes and clenched teeth, acquiesced.
“Good, now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some letters to send,” she said, “of course, though this has earned you no small amount of displeasure from certain peoples, we’ve been instructed to provide you with house and board for as long as it takes to sort this out. You are still welcome guests and you will be treated as such.”
The tepid truce struck, the children were sent back up to their rooms. Sorore tried to sleep, and managed no more than half an hour before she was woken by her brother.
“The commander’s here,” he said, “he wants to talk to us.”
The commander, looking very tired, but light of step than Sorore had ever seen him, waited by the fire. He was talking with Kieren and the two remaining legionarries in the fast-paced trading tongue of the city, but stopped when he saw the girl come downstairs.
“My lady,” he said, “it seems there’s been a huge misunderstanding.”
She realized that it was his manner of dress which was throwing her off. Instead of his usual worn and thoroughly practical travelling clothes, he wore the long flowing silks of orange and cream. It suited him, matching his calm personality.
“What misunderstanding?” she said.
“Well, we had no idea that our own Aya was the granddaughter of Aystara Eisen herself. I was surprised as anyone. Of course, I knew she was an Eisen, from her mother.”
He looked at Kieren, who looked like she was about to fall asleep.
“But I never imagined that she was a direct descendent of the main house. I thought she was part of the branch, not necessary to cause any fuss, especially during the preparation of the festival. Ah!”
He slapped his head to indicate his shock at the realisation.
“What a terrible mistake I’ve made,” he said, patting the woman’s arm, “this is all on my horrendous lack of judgement. Here’s what’s going to happen, one of these gentlemen and trader Amicio will be vouching for me at the gate. I’m going to the Eisen estate and having a friendly chat with the matriarch, to clear up this misunderstanding.”
Sorore felt at last some suggestion that someone around the city knew what was happening and what they were going to do.
“Here’s what I need you and your brother to do,” Naia said, “I want you to wait and enjoy the hospitality of the madame of the house.”
The term seemed to flatter Kieren, who flushed at the complement. Or that might’ve been the drink, Sorore wasn’t entirely sure.
“Niche, you take care of them. I expect that I might be at the estate for the rest of the night, and possibly onto next afternoon. Things are always so chaotic around the Festival. There’s no reason for you not to attend the festival opening tomorrow, if you can.”
“You want us to attend a festival?” said Niche in disbelief, “right now?”
“Well, not right now, it hasn’t started yet,” said the commander, “but, if Kieren would graciouslly agree to take you as guest of honour, you’d have excellent seats. If that’s not too much to ask, especially after our little debacle.”
Kieren nodded, and affirmed that she wouldn’t mind at all, if the matter was going to be soon cleared up. Sorore was now certain that it wasn’t just alcohol.
“Great. You’re all taken care of, now I’d better explain myself. If you wouldn’t mind,” he said, pointing to the quarter full glass, which Kieren handed to him. The commander downed it all in one, rolled his shoulders, and smiled.
“Don’t worry. It’ll all work out in the end,” he said, “in fact, I would say to enjoy yourselves, as much as you can. And best go back to bed, unless you want to be sleeping during the festival, which, I assure you from experience, you do not.”
Before they could say anything, the commander had swept by them, vanishing out of the front of the pyramid.
“You should heed him,” said Kieren, picking up the decanter and the glass and moving towards the kitchens, “if you’re stuck here for the time being, you might as well enjoy it And that starts with getting good sleep.”
“Last time you said that, we woke up to armed guards,” Niche said flatly.
“Well, I assure you, I’m not boring enough to do that a second time. It would be assassin’s from across the streets, who approach over the rooftops.”
“Do they actually exist?” asked Frare, suddenly excited.
“Oh, I’m sure,” said Kieren as she stowed away her drinking equipment, “but not tonight. Go get some sleep sir paladin, and you two young ones as well. You’ll need it.”
Sorore was cajoled up the steps, Frare coming up after her. Niche seemed placated enough for the time being, though he was clearly unhappy with the outcome. The pleasant dreams neglected to revisit for a second time, but at least the sleep was uninterrupted. When Soroe next awoke, it was a young handmadein, pulling open the screen doors.
“Good morning, my lady,” she said, “how did you sleep?”
“I- well enough, I suppose,” she said, stretching and yawning, before quickly covering her mouth.
The maid had the presence of mind not to notice as she revealed the bright sunlight streaming through the open balcony.
“It must almost be midday!” Sorore exclaimed, leaping out of the bed as she tried to straighten herself.
The maid chuckled as she finished opening up the room.
“Not to fear, my lady,” she said, “it’s customary to sleep into the early afternoon. The Festival does not start until just before sunset, afterall. In fact, you might be earlier than many of the household.”
“Oh,” Soroe said, feeling rather foolish, “Um. Well, I guess I’ll get dressed.”
“Of course. I’ve left out some clothes for you. Madame Kieren suggested that you try clothes from our city. I hope you’ll love them. Do you bathe?”
Sorore wrinkled her nose at the prospect. What kind of question was that?
“Of course I do,” she said.
“Well, there’s a place to bath at the bottom of the pyramid. If you wish to bath alone, you should go now - I’ll bring you clothes for you to change at the waterfront.”
“You bathe together here?” Sorore said
“In the mornings and evenings,” she said, “we do not bring water up into the house if we cannot avoid it. To the stone goes the sea, and to the home goes the sky.”
She looked around, then leaned in with a smile.
“Also, water is very troublesome to carry up all those flights.”
“So just come down to the waterfront?” she said, gathering up what spare things she needed.
“Just follow me, my lady,” said the handmaiden, picking up a pile of clothes and leading her down the stairs.
They emerged onto an inset pool carved into the pyramid interior. A smooth stone deck, with benches and chairs and stacks of towels, as well as several large paper screens, presumably for changing. Sorore was glad to see they were alone, at least for the time being.
At the handmaid, Kiroe’s, direction, she stripped down naked and plunged into the pool. The water was a perfect temperature - cold enough to dispel the last of the grogginess, warm enough to be pleasant to float in. She swam around for a bit, constrained by the relatively small volume, while Kiroe prepared her outfit on the deck.
“Do you mind if I join you?” came a voice from the other end.
Kieren slipped out of a thin morning dress and stepped into the water. Sorore swam over and came to stand beside her.
“Is there any news? About Aya and the commander?” she said, a little too quickly.
Kieren, who’d been sinking into the water with a sigh of contentment, opened one eye.
“Straight to business? Perhaps you are better suited to the city than I thought.”
Sorore tried to smile, but her concern was betrayed, judging by the woman’s softening of expression.
“My knowledge is limited. My uncle is serving as our representative for now. Sounds like your commander was at least allowed to make his case to the Eisen. He made note of one other companion of yours.”
“Oh? Who?” she said, pushing out into the pool, feeling the water surge over her shoulders.
“A man in black clothes,” she said, “who hides his face behind a mask. He was there for the meeting.”
“The mage?” said Sorore, before considering that she maybe shouldn’t have mentioned it.
“A mage?” said Kieren, before submerging herself in the water.
She tossed her hair back as she came back up, spraying water in a neat arc.
“Well, that explains his odd demeanour,” she said, “now, regrettably, that’s all the time I have today for bathing. I will see you at the festival.”
“Hello cousin! May I join- oh,” came a voice from the steps leading out.
It was Ivers, dressed in nothing but a loose robe, which was already half-way off his body, sculpted with muscle from hauling rope and tackle. Sorore stifled a gasp and turned away, trying not to redden.
“I can come back later,” he offered.
“Do you mind?” Kieren said to Sorore, “if you do, it’d be best to finish soon and let others bathe.”
“No, no,” she said, waving her host away.
Kiero had warned her, after all. It would be best to become accustomed to the strange ways of this beautiful city. Besides, it’s not like she hadn’t bathed before in the company of men her age back home. She cursed herself for being so self-conscious, and forced herself to turn around.
“Are you sure? I can leave if you want, it’s not-” Ivers began.
“No, it’s fine. It’s fine,” Sorore said, smiling at him, “it’d be good to have companionship.”
“Well, then, Ivers, I trust you’ll behave yourself,” said Kieren rising from the water.
“Of course, cousin,” Ivers said, casting his eyes to the floor.
Sorore tried not to take a wicked pleasure at the blush that crept across his dark complexion.
“Oh, one more thing,” whispered her host, bending over to the girl, “it’s considered polite to not look when they’re outside the water.”
Kieren laughed at Sorore’s own furious blush as she made for one of the poolside changing screens.
[←Chapter 63] [Cover Art] [My Links] [Index] [Discord] [Subreddit] [Chapter 65→] Just as the title states, I'm looking for a backwards compatible ps3 in good condition. Cosmetics aren't the biggest deal to me, but it needs to work without issue. Willing to pay F&F for sellers with high rep, otherwise it'll be G&S. If you happen to be in Las Vegas I can meet up as well to save shipping costs.
Interceptors! The front line defense unit that has higher evasion to provide a defensive wall along the front. These here are my thoughts on the various units within this role
Strengths:
Higher Evasion: On a point per point basis your evasion will be higher then most.
Generalist: Like it’s close role Battler most Interceptors are along the lines of generalists. You’ll be able to shoot and fight decently enough
Actions: There is a surprisingly high number of lower cost units that have 2+ actions enabling interesting strategies.
Weaknesses:
Generalist: Unlike Battler this is worse off for Interceptor. For their better evasion they tend to give something up whether armor, weaker weapon or less weapons, or weaker melee.
Shields: The high evasion comes at cost. Most units here do not have shields or free blocks.
Federation:
GM Light Armor: 90 points with a Tier 1 pilot. The GM light armor is a bite sized interceptor with a few weaknesses. Armed with a Stripped Beam Rifle and Beam Saber it is a rather close range GM. The Stripped beam rifle only has a max range of 16” but with overwatch II and a nice shot rate and above average armor pen it does quite well for itself though beware it only has accuracy 7. With 4d10 Melee dice the Beam Saber can threaten a variety of battlers and others especially if you get the charge off. While it does have a +4 evade it only has 400 HP so be wary about getting within auto hit weapon ranges or else you’ll be torn down by Machine Gun fire. It’s a delicate balancing act with how short your own range is, but thanks to Untouchable and its free blocks and higher Skill Defense shots it can ensure your survival.
GM Intercept Custom: 150 points with a Tier 1 pilot. The Intercept is the big brother to the line armor in upgrades. Armed with Beam Spray Gun and a Beam Saber the Intercept is an upgrade on the Light armor in most ways. The Beam Spray Gun is a classic GM weapon, but comes out with average Pen compared to the SBR and at 5d10 Melee dice the Beam Saber is optimal for dealing with close threats. However the Intercept is more of a bully with Practiced Professional, dealing free hits against Tier 0 pilots. This does make it even more fragile then the light armor as without untouchable you’ll have to spend more precious momentum dealing with auto-hit weaponry and at 400 HP you’ll feel the heat soon enough even with Evade+5.
GM Custom: 200 points with a Tier 1 pilot. The stats keep climbing. Armed with Assault Rifle, Shield, and Beam Saber this one has some good upgrades on the Intercept. With Accuracy 9 and 900 HP the assault rifle is put to good use either in RF range or from range. The Shield provides an excellent defensive bonus and with the Immortal trait you gain your team more M and have better defenses against those within 16”. The Immortal 4th team is aptly named and it will take a bit to put this one down.
Ace GM Custom (Lt South Burning): 250 points with Tier 2 pilot: Not too much to say. It has Pilot Instructor and an Ace Pilot on top of the GM Custom’s other things.
GM Custom RGM-79-N-Fb: 200 points with a Tier 0 pilot. Almost the same stats as the GM Custom, however trading in a skilled pilot for pure speed with a movement of 18” and a Beam Rifle instead of an Assault Rifle. The enhanced range and speed of the RGM lets it pick battles it wants to choose easier. The Beam Rifles higher damage and above average gives it an overall more powerful output of power.
GM Intercept Custom (FB) [S]: 240 points with a Tier 1 Pilot. This thing is a beast of firepower. Armed with TL Hyper Bazooka, 2 TL Micromissiles, a Beam Spray Gun, and a Beam Saber. The output of this GM is not to be denied coming in with 2 actions to fire two weapons per turn. With Hyper Bazooka outputting high damage and the BSG providing good Pen up close it’s got a weapon for every occasion especially with the Practiced Professional letting you destroy grunt units even better. However with +5 evade you’ll learn that all of that power comes at a cost of only 400HP. Autohit weapons and melee will quickly become a bane as without the chance to dodge you’ll falter quickly without spending momentum.
G-Line Light Armor (Hughes Courand): 250 points with a Tier 1 pilot. A surprisingly durable model from the Interceptors. Armed with Heavy Beam Rifle (U) 2 TL Missile Pods, a Shield, and Beam Saber. This is a surprisingly durable interceptor. 1500 health, +1 Arm saves, and shield with a +4 evade means that this unit can shrug off effects far easier then one would expect. It’s range lets it pepper enemies from afar with Missiles and its rifle shots are quite effective against all models. With Entwined with Tragedy it makes it a more effective pilot hunter going after more skilled pilots. Good speed and durability makes the Light G-Line quite powerful.
GM Night Seeker II: 250 points with a Tier 2 pilot. This unit is fast! Armed with a Stripped Beam Rifle (U) and Beam Saber its a very sparsely armed unit. Between its traits Dynamic Entrance and Ambusher you’ll quickly get on top of someone to do quite a bit of damage. With Practiced Professional on top of that you’ll be striking with +3 hits against a Tier 0/1 pilot without even firing a shot already! However it’s short range combined with Elusive means that in optimal damage range for it makes it become more threatened by those it wants to hunt.
Full Armor 7th Gundam (Hughes Courand): 350 points with a Tier 2 pilot. You could be mistaken for thinking this was a Firepower unit. Armed with Beam Cannon (U), 7th Beam rifle (U), TL missile pods, Grenade Launchers, Shield, and Beam Saber. With 5000 HP and +2 Evade its surprising this is an interceptor, but with two actions you’ll quickly overwhelm the enemy with long range firepower. With Entwined with Tragedy letting you deal free hits to Tier 1+ pilots and Driven giving you stronger return fire and M+1 when attacking with melee the enemy will learn to fear this units power. The Beam Cannon will provide good long range fire while the Rifle provides powerful consistency.
Zephyranthes GP01 (Kou Uraki): 350 points with a Tier 1 pilot. This unit is a beast. Armed with Assault Rifle, Beam Rifle, Shield and Beam Saber this unit has a tool for every situation. It’s stats are quite powerful for what you’d expect. 8D10 means most units will fear its melee, and with +2 Save, 4500 HP, and +5 Evade and 14” movement means you’ll have a tough time taking it down or even evading its speed. Between the Assault Rifle providing auto hits up close and the beam rifles penetration you’ll have a decent toolkit for dealing with others and with Mechanic Expert you’ll even be able to give Assault Rifle Penetration to avoid shields and otherwise give it and the saber more power for what you need.
Zephyranthes GP01 -Fb (Kou Uraki): (Shouldn’t this unit be space only?) 450 points with Tier 2 pilot. The unit is mostly similar to the standard model but removes the Assault Rifle. However it adds +4 movement and several new traits. With Fuel hungry giving even more speed to the unit it means that it will be able to traverse most boards without issue, though later on it’ll lose the power. Sudden Decoupling gives a very powerful melee attack as it can now avoid shields and gain crits in melee combat against its rival units. With Hunting for a Rival on top of that it now gains free hits against Tier 1+ so it has become quite deadlier then before. You won’t be able to outrace the GP01.
7th Gundam (Hughes Courand): 400 points with Tier 2 pilot. The 7th Gundam is a true generalist. Armed with a 7th Beam Rifle (U), Shield, and Beam Saber. The unit has strong stats for its cost. Powerful 7d10 melee, 10 accuracy, +1 Save, and 4000 HP with Evade +5 means its got strong melee and shooting capability. With the Rifles long range you’ll be able to shoot across the board as needed and its melee capability means that it’ll do quite well, and with Driven and Entwined with Tragedy means you’ll want to put both effects to good use.
Gundam Alex (Chobham) (Chris Mackenzie): 650 points with Tier 0 pilot. Thanks to it’s rule Custom Newtype unit you can never raise this units pilot skill. A relatively slow moving Interceptor, but the only Federation one with +2 Save. Armed with the Alex Beam Rifle (P) and Beam Saber it’s a relatively versatile unit. Good shooting and melee ensures that you can deal well with things, but the most important aspect to this is when you reach 1500 and below.
Gundam Alex: 250 points with Tier 0 pilot: Upon reaching this form the armor is stripped and the Alex gains a TL Gatling Gun and amazing speed at an impressive +6 evade. While much more fragile now the movement is boosted by a good +7 and the evasion shoots up. With the Gatling providing good auto hits and the Rifle good range you’ll have something for everyone you fight.
Zeon:
Recon Zaku: 60 points with Tier 0 pilot. A Zaku built for long range support. Armed only with the Long Barrel M.Gun (U) the Recon is meant for long range support but its main benefit comes from it Camera Gun trait. It’s effect basically gives every unit shooting at the target +1 accuracy, making them much easier to deal with. You don’t want to be close up with the Recon and thanks to its long barrel and Sensor range it can do its job effectively from a distance.
Acguy: 70 points with Tier 0 pilot. Everyone’s favorite adorable amphibious suit. Armed with Mega Particle Gun, Large Rocket Barrage and Iron Nail. A surprisingly large range with the Rocket Barrage, but one needs to remember it only has Accuracy 7 so against high evade suits it will have problems. With Stealth and Amphibious it has a lot of options for approaching the enemy and choosing when it will be targeted early on, but its best at closer range as the MPC gets a powerful 6 shots up close, and it’s Iron Nail is one of the more amazing melee weapons, the ability to blindside another unit is not to be taken lightly given the free Critical hit and ability to bypass shields just allows for a lot more power then one expects even for the M+1 cost.
Zaku Flipper: 80 points with Tier 0 pilot. The Recon Zaku’s big brother suit. With a better shooting accuracy, melee, and instead armed with the Giant Bazooka the Flipper is a much more dangerous foe on the field. It is also much more difficult to deal with on the first turn thanks to the Stealth Trait though you will want to use it earlier so that its useful Camera Gun can provide its benefits to your team. The Giant Bazooka is an effective damage tool that could even defeat most low level Zakus in one shot.
Act Zaku: 170 points with Tier 0 pilot. The advance of the Zaku line. The Act Zaku is armed with Quad Machine Gun (P) and Beam Saber. With a higher hp and evade the Act Zaku provides a hefty amount of close range damage. The Quad Machine gun loses out on range but with an amazing 8 shots base and boosts up to +4 autohits in 8” range means that you can do quite well, and with the Beam Saber and above average melee dice means that it can hold its own when it comes to close range. It’s a surprisingly well rounded suit that overall will do you fine so long as you can get in range.
Cima Gelgoog Marine (Cima Garahau): 280 points with Tier 2 pilot. The Custom Commander Cima. Armed with Repeating Beam Rifle (P), shield, and Beam Saber the Gelgoog is a dangerous long range threat. With a 40” beam rifle it does not matter you’ll be able to match most threats and with a speed of 13” you will likely dictate many matchups in your own favor early on. With Ambusher and Headhunter you’ll have a free +1 crit and +1 hit on any Tier 1 pilot of your choice on the first round and if any gets into your range you become even more of a threat thanks to Overconfident giving you a boost to defenses and the +4 to your shots will ensure that most threats disappear.
Act Zaku (Mallet Sanguine): 300 points with Tier 2 pilot. The Same statline as the Act Zaku. Whie the stateline has changed the loadout certainly has. Armed with Beam Rifle and Double Heat Hawk it becomes a much more generalist with its much longer range. The power has risen thanks to the Beam Rifles above average penetration and with the DHH giving a free hit in melee and rerolls it allows for much more effective power. Though it does best it gradually evolves towards melee with its Limiter Release, and should it become half health or a tier 1+ pilot falls in combat it becomes a massive powerhouse in melee as it now gets 3 autohits and blocks 2 hits per M as it’s strength becomes a berserker rage, but do not forget its Beam Rifle as it’ll still provide effective power no matter what your skill in melee is.
Gundam Wing:
Wing Gundam: (Heero Yuy): 500 Points with Tier 2 pilot. Everyone’s favorite Voltorb. The Wing Gundam is a powerful ranged suit armed with Buster Rifle, Great Shield, and Beam Saber. None of his weapons are below Pen 8 and he starts with an amazing 64” range. The Buster Rifle is a 64” 3 shot weapon that in RF range grows to 8 shots at 500 damage. This weapon is powerful, and with a high investment of M-3 it becomes a 3” line shot for clearing hordes, terrain, and whatever you point it at. Don’t think you can avoid it first turn either as thanks to Neo Bird Mode it gains +5” and ignore elevation in the first turn, and defensively it has a +2 Save, high HP, and it doesn’t even need to roll saves for Pen7 and below attacks as it just ignores them outright. Getting a free focus for being on its own and increasing M for activating it can gain M+2 per turn. Melee won’t save you from it either as it has a 7d10 melee with its beam saber still being able to cut through others. Be wary if you spot Heero on the field as you’ll need to keep an eye out where it’ll be able to shoot you from.
G Gundam: A bit of a mention is that a shared trait is the Mobile Trace System. For those without the higher tier version they lose -1 action if they fail an armour save.
Rising Gundam (Rain Mikamura): 450 points with Tier 1 pilot. A long ranged suit. Armed with the Heat Naginata (U) and Rising Arrow (U). The Rising Arrow is a long range weapon of destruction at 48”. Though its best to treat it as a sniper weapon as when in RF range it loses attacks its high Pen of 8 makes it deadly when it hits. Though one shouldn’t count out her melee ability as the Naginata gives +1 hit and +1 block in melee with defensive rerolls and an average pen. Though once per game she can enhance her [CC] with This Hand of mine like Domon to get +3 hits and +3000 finisher that increases its penetration with each hit. Overall she does best in either range, but her weakness is midrange as she does not want to be in RF range so she wants to either be close for melee or long for best shooting.
Neros Gundam (Michelo Chariot): 500 points with Tier 2 pilot. A lot of range! Armed with TL Beam Cannon, Silver Legs, 2 Satyricon Beams (P), and Killer Knuckle. A ranged attack for every occasion, giving yourself more actions through pilot actions gives you amazing power as you only have one action to start with. All your ranged is at least 32” so don’t be afraid to use what you need to. Whether you need to clear crowds with Silver legs, the overall power of the TL beam cannon and the rapid fire attacks of the beams means you can do quite well especially with Gunner Expert giving you a free hit or even longer range. Melee range with the Killer Knuckle gives blindside, which given the high melee means you’ll bypass any free shield blocks and gives an additional crit. You can’t go wrong at any range with the Neros.
Neros Gundam DG (Michelo Chariot Neros infested with the DG cells. The only changes here are traits. Gaining Headhunter for dealing with Tier 1+ pilots, and Menancing Visage which now gives M+1 for additional use. Along with Spectrum Beam Kick which now gets an additional +3 hits with Silver Legs for increased power. Overall take whatever you desire as both are good.
Cobra Gundam (Chandra Shijema): 500 points with Tier 2 pilot. A subtly suitable short ranged suit. Armed with TL Flamethrower, Constrict and Immobilize and Assassin Beam Saber (P) this suit is best fitted for short range. With Constrict being able to immobilize suits from afar you have the variety on attack thanks to its autohits. The Flamethrower provides a lot of aggression against grunt suits with it coming with AoE naturally, and having 5 autohits in RF range makes it even deadlier even against evasive suits. The suit itself comes with 3 free focus actions per turn and a M+1 if far enough away from allies, and you’ll likely be using that for its powerful ability to blindside on any melee it chooses with its decoupling. It’s assassin saber comes with an additional +2 finishing blow so managing to get finishing blows with it will be as strong as two full pens so go for it if you can. The Cobra will sneak up on any that it can to finish them off in a subtle way.
Pacific Rim:
Otachi: 500 points with Tier 1 Kaiju. An effective, fast flyer with some powerful tricks! Armed with a Deadly Tail and Torrent of Acid Otachi is our first Super Heavy unit on the lit. Otachi’s main defense is a bunch of health that allows it to tank a lot of firepower, it wants to be within close range to fire off its acid for good pen before charging in with its deadly tail. The tail itself is a very powerful weapon as it gives +2 hits and for every crit it gains +1 pen, making its Pen 4 a Pen 5 by default. It’s most powerful trait is its Stratosphere drop which requires it to transform into winged mode which gives it more movement & ignore elevation but makes its melee defense worse. After dealing damage you are allowed a disengage and a 10d10 on 5+ that does 300 damage, potentially finishing off enemies. With the new Havoc abilities you can cause extra damage through Impact to force them through terrain or units, or fight two units in one turn and with how Stratosphere is worded you can do it two units in one turn and Kaiju throw lets you fling an enemy into another for a proper ranged attack instead of torrent of acid.
Evangelion, Gaogaigar, Mazinger, Getter Robo, Big O, Escaflowne: Nothing yet!
This one took a bit longer thanks to GBO2 and other things pulling me away! Good to see Gaogaigar and a new edition going on well.
I’m currently playing New Vegas and always find it funny watching films or series set in Las Vegas to try and locate them in New Vegas.
Tonight i was watching Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain, which is in Vegas. They even mention Nellis Air Force Base which we can find in game, so I was wondering, even if the Witch Mountain is not a “real place” if it does take inspiration somewhere in Vegas or anywhere we might find in game
Thanks -^
We are renovating our finished attic: we removed walls to expose the slopes for more a bit more space. We are also raising the ceiling that was 7" tall before to 10" or so now. The existing lower ceiling framing is coming down. What's the best way to insulate up those rafters given that the bottom, framed dry walled slopes have a mixture of blown in and old fiberglass in them? A small ceiling strip is going to be added at the top.
