Richie Neal Corruption Now in District in Real Time.
Ed Ryan for Mayor of Springfield to end Richie Neal and Friends from Robbing and Impoverishing Springfield like a Greed Sick Crew of White Supremist Racist. Springfield City Hall has been under the Control of Richie Neal Corruption for too long. Mayor Sarno lies to the people adulating Neal as Sarno Presides over Massachusetts Poorest City , a place where over 50,00 people now Languish in poverty. Ed Ryan Promises to appoint a Co-Mayor, A Vibrant Young Leader from Springfield's Ignored and Impoverished Hispanics Community and Eds Ryan Donate Half His Mayoral Salary to Pay him as Ed Ryan is all about Establishing Real Racial, Economic and Social Justice that will Stimulate prosperity as Ed Ryan's project to Build a World Class Sister UMASS Campus in the Heart of Springfield will bring prosperity and Make Springfield an Academic and Art destination. This I promised do my best to Attain and I have little Doubt Springfield will be denied as the truth comes out that the UMASS President ( Marty Meehan the ex-congressman and extremely close friend of Richie Neal most likely knew about and assisted with the RICO Criminal Conspiracy in the Alex Morse UMASS Hate Smear, a dirty hate crime that violated Federal Election and Civil Rights laws while destroying the people’s faith in Democracy, goes uninvestigated by an FBI that is a secret police organization wrongly emmeshed in American political system protecting Corporate Democrats from any Prosecution for the often racist and hate Corruption and Corporate Pay for play that enriches and empowers Congressman like Richie Neal to now go forth at Ways and Means and write tax law after tax law that allows the Millionaires who have bought our congress, to continued not paying taxes as in the 2021 Richie Neal refusal of Bidens request to eliminate the 'step up' capital gains tax loophole used to pass down too heirs untaxed wealth at death. This Tax loophole still being used thanks to Richie Neal being bought off and denying Bidens request, and cities like Springfield, festering in poverty, are being denied by Richie Neal corruption the money needed to begin to cure this unholy, diabolically constructed mess, that is destroying the lives of so many good people. My friends, Teflon Richie Neal Corruption needs to go to jail, full stop period. Things are ugly as thousands of people, mostly of color, are thrusted into horrible lives of poverty ,thanks to Richie Neal and Friend’s Corruption in the form of these criminals literally Pillaging Springfield, and the entire district, over 30 plus year span. This Crime onto Humanity needs to end. Hopefully, things will get better soon as Ed Ryan, runs for, and is elected to Mayor of Springfield. In the spirit of always trying to do the right thing, Ed Ryan now promises to use half his mayoral salary to pay the salary of a co-mayor that Ryan will appoint from Springfield’s forgotten Hispanic community.
Yes, the story is sickening, our Hispanic brothers and sisters, and so many others in Springfield, have been buried under a slash pile of corruption that Richie Neal and friend's, like Springfield Mayor Dominic Sarno, Atty Jim Roosevelt and UMASS President, Marty Meehan (the guy who sees fit to pay a Football Coach over $850'000 per season rather than investing a dime in the great City of Springfield),and Springfield Power Law Firm Buckley Richardson's Atty Melinda Phelps, who acts as a racist administering housing grants in Springfield issued by Rich Neal to be used to stop low class minority encroachment into middle class neighborhoods. This are high end well educated people in powerful positions pretending their doing right, when, in reality their bunch of greed sick bigoted racist who need to learn what the inside of a jail cell looks like when door clangs behind you. Yes, my friends, no wonder their is so much apathy, as people trust their leaders less and less. And to top it off, the FBI now protects the Corporate Democrats so they can get a cut a cut of the corporate cash flowing like the champaign fountain at a Donald Trump wedding. And you will learn more of the sordid details as you read in the Sludge account below. But know this, it still goes on today in real time as Congressman Richie Neal recently issued a series of 2023 grant letters to a bunch of cohorts across district. Besides supplying grant money payola in the form of funding at least 10 non-essential projects across the district at a time when the cities die in poverty, Richie Neal now ‘gets down’ with his Catholic Church masters issuing a 2 million dollar grant to the Elms College to paint the yellowed walls of Catholic Church Property. Yes, in a certain scheme to allow Richie Neal and his bag men, along with the Bishop, with crews of tight lipped white collared priest, to loot the 2 million dollar slush fund with a papal kick-back designed by Vatican. If I am wrong, then ‘my bad’ but my gut is churning, and it is rarely wrong. So give me a break Richie Neal, you now enrich the same crew of sickos who allowed at least two bishops and an multiple of priest to damage untold number of boys with their twisted pedophile predilection. And now we see a Cardinal or Bishop in NYC paying lobbyist 2 million dollars to loosen up the child sexual assault laws so that priests and bishops, and others, can continue their sick ways fearless of being prosecuted. That's a fact Jack. Catholic Priest pedophile sexual abuse of boys is still going on today, and you ,Richie Neal ,and your Buddies at the Springfield Law Firm of Egan and Flanagan, the church lawyers, profit off it, as you do your best to help sweep this sick reality under the rug. In doing so the Church will continue to whisper support of you to the loyal flock members , and fund dark money PACS to destroy your opponents with Alex More Like Hate Smears. And All this warped corruption allows you to continue con folks with Irish Catholic phony piety. You sir are a dangerous corrupt bigot, says Ed Ryan. Yes, Ed Ryan was addicted, in the gutter years ago, but now, healed by adhering to Existentialist principles of not believing any Bible based superstition sold by the church because falsehood as truth corrupts logical intellectual abilities. So I am a godless atheist who is now, fully transparent, and serious as a heart attack about always doing the right. Thus I now adhere to the most important existentialist tenant, that being to defeat evil as best I can when I met up with it, and I have met it in learning about you along with the jam packed ongoing crew along for the ride ion the criminal concern you that you king pin. So I will l now singlehandedly, make sure that the Elms College does not see dime of that 2 million dollars on the table, even if have to sue in Federal court on the principle of separation of Church and state, or call the Pope and telling him what’s up. But, I’m sure he already knows as 2million is a worthy, holy chunk of change, even for a pointed hatted pope, sore in the elbows from waving at the hordes of brainwashed victims of church religiosity, That’s my promise mister, and know this, you are in a Donnybrook, and I am going to Donnybrook your corrupt butt, out of Congress. This I promise. ed ryan

Richard Neal’s Inner Circle of Corporate Lobbyists and Real Estate Developers, from Sludge Friends, family, and staff of Rep. Richard Neal have all benefited from the revolving door linking Springfield and K Street, at great cost to Massachusetts residents Neal, in his 16th term, finds himself in a single-digit race against progressive Holyoke mayor Alex Morse, according to two recent polls. On August 19, Rep. Richard Neal’s powerful D.C. lawyer Brian Svoboda sent a cease and desist letter to local news station WWLP-22, in Massachusetts’s First Congressional District. An outside ad had been hammering the incumbent over his record of taking more money from corporations than any other member of Congress. Writing on behalf of Neal, Svoboda claimed that the ad, from Justice Democrats, conflates taking “money from corporations”—a felony under federal law—with taking money from corporate PACs. The legal counsel for Justice Democrats described the letter as “not valid from a legal perspective.” ADVERTISING The letter comes as Neal, in his 16th term, finds himself in a single-digit race against progressive Holyoke mayor Alex Morse, according to two recent polls. The primary is on Tuesday. Semantics aside—and he is in fact the single largest recipient of corporate (PAC) dollars in all of Congress—Neal has used his powerful position as chair of the Ways and Means Committee to grease a revolving door that shepherds friends, family, and staffers between his office and the lobbyist firms that advocate on behalf of his biggest donors. Before threatening a local news provider with legal action, Neal made no small effort to conceal his fealty to the powerful special interest groups funding his campaign, corporate interests that have a dramatic impact on the lives of his constituents. More from Daniel Bogus law For example, Neal’s former legislative director Melissa Mueller has taken to lobbying for organizations that have donated considerable sums to the Neal campaign this year. At Capitol Tax Partners, Mueller took in $460,000 from Verizon, insurance companies like Northwestern Mutual Life, and big energy firms like NextEra and Terra-Gen Power. In 2020 alone, corporations compensating Mueller for her lobbying efforts donated over $290,000 to Neal’s campaign. After twenty years in Rep. Neal’s office, former chief of staff Ann Jabulon also began working as a lobbyist at Capital Counsel, a bipartisan D.C. lobbying firm, in 2016. Public lobbying disclosures show that in 2020, Jabulon’s firm received over one million dollars in income from the same hospital, pharmaceutical, and doctors’ associations that have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Neal’s campaign this cycle. Notable among them is the American Medical Group Association, which opposed legislation that would have curbed surprise billing that Neal ultimately killed and Jabulon lobbied against. The surprise-billing fiasco has damaged lives across the country, including those in Massachusetts. The surprise-billing fiasco has damaged lives across the country, including those in Massachusetts. A review of over 330 pages of complaints to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, obtained by the group Fight Corporate Monopolies, reveals the way numerous patients have been victimized by unexpected medical bills in the state. Time and again, Massachusetts patients check and double-check that they would not be hit with an out-of-network change for anesthesiologists, radiologists, or emergency room doctors, are told everything will be fine, and still end up owing thousands of dollars. One patient treated at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts, got a bill from “Rhode Island Imaging,” for having their radiologist read X-rays. When the patient questioned “why someone at Sturdy would be billing separately by a Rhode Island company, I was told ‘That’s just the way it is.’” Another patient went for a colonoscopy at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton because that was listed “in network” on her insurance company Cigna’s app. The bill from Cigna then stated “that Cooley Dickinson was out of network … I owed $1,730.06.” The same thing happened to a patient in Salem, who was assured before getting a mammogram that the services would be in network but found out later that the radiologist was not. A fourth patient from Waltham received a $4,321 bill for an out-of-network anesthesiologist. A fifth from Somerville had to pay $5,557.78 for an out-of-network doctor. A sixth from Newton racked up over $10,000 in charges from out-of-network healthcare providers, after confirming that the doctor was in-network. Trade groups representing hospitals, radiologists, and anesthesiologists have devoted over $600,000 to Neal’s effort, both through direct funding to the Neal campaign and third-party spending. WHILE NEAL’S FORMER EMPLOYEES have turned to lobbying, former lobbyists have in turn joined Neal’s staff. Picking up where Mueller left off, Neal’s deputy chief of staff on the House Ways and Means Committee, Elizabeth O’Hara, previously spent six years lobbying for O’Hara Federal Strategies, where her father now serves as principal. One of O’Hara Federal Strategies’ chief clients is Norfolk Southern, which has donated more than $25,000 to Neal over the last four election cycles. In between her former role as Neal’s legislative director and her current role as Senior Counsel to the Ways and Means Committee, Peg McGlinchey lobbied on behalf of Deloitte, Baxter Healthcare, PhRMA, Baxalta, and AmerisourceBergen. Combined, these companies have donated some $52,000 to Neal since 2014. Beyond friends and staffers, a member of Neal’s nuclear family has also come to benefit from the tremendous power that flows from the gavel of the Ways and Means Committee. Neal has also supported the endeavors of friends in addition to congressional staff. Melinda Phelps, head of the government strategies group at the powerful Springfield law firm Bulley Richardson, is also a former member of Neal’s mayoral campaign and a close friend of Neal’s. Phelps sits on multiple boards that have received donations from Neal. Data compiled by the Center For Responsive Politics for the Prospect shows that one of the boards that Phelps sits on, The Spirit of Springfield, has received $15,355 from Neal’s Congressional committee. While Spirit of Springfield is a civic pride organization, Develop Springfield, a privately funded development non-profit where Phelps serves as vice chair, has also received help from Neal. The congressman has written multiple times to the Springfield Community Preservation Committee advocating for public subsidies for private developments supported by the group. Neal has appeared at Develop Springfield events, and touts his record securing federal matching for their projects. None of the projects listed on Develop Springfield’s website mention low-income housing or community-based development, despite their requests for taxpayer dollars intended for projects that “preserve the character of the community.” This falls in line with Phelps’ statements describing community development projects as “encroachments” on middle-class neighborhoods. Phelps’s law firm Bulley Richardson has received $1,800 for “fundraising,” per Center For Responsive Politics records, and hosted a pre-gala VIP reception with Neal last year. Phelps also attended a Spirit of Springfield fundraiser co-chaired by Neal and MassMutual CEO Roger Crandall, although photo galleries on MassLive covering both events disappeared from their site, displaying an “internal server error” message, after the Prospect began contacting sources as part of its investigation into Phelps last week. The removal of the photos comes on the heels of The Intercept’s reporting on the tilted local media coverage of the MA-01 race. As of Sunday, the galleries seem to have been restored. Beyond friends and staffers, a member of Neal’s nuclear family has also come to benefit from the tremendous power that flows from the gavel of the Ways and Means Committee. As The Intercept reported earlier this month, Neal’s son Brendan was able to secure a lucrative lobbying job with Trestle Energy, a California-based biofuel company, after Neal helped the biofuel industry win a $3 billion dollar tax credit. As Lee Fang wrote, “The legislative gift followed a series of PAC donations from the largest ethanol and biofuel companies in America to Neal’s campaign, a tradition that enriches the campaign war chests of most legislators on the tax-writing committee.” Total biofuel industry donations to Neal this cycle are over $20,000. In addition to taking biofuel money, Neal has also advanced legislation that would give massive tax incentives to biomass energy providers like the embattled Palmer Renewable Energy, which has fought a prolonged battle with activist groups and city councilors to build a wood-burning biomass plant in East Springfield. Already suffering from the highest rates of asthma in the country, Springfield residents have raised the alarm over the plant’s potential to worsen public health, a sentiment that activists and local politicians have echoed. In 2010 Palmer Paving, whose owners the Callahans are also investors in the east Springfield plant, donated $5,500 to Neal. Between 2012 and 2020 members of the Callahan family donated an additional $2,500.

2023.03.26 07:20 first_of_her_name433 Dealing with brain fog?

For ‘brain fog’ (poor concentration, memory issues, mind just going blank) related to anxiety or depression, also including ptsd and bipolar, are there any medications for each specific condition that are known to be more effective than others? Is only psychotherapy recommended?
It seems like most medications aim to regulate or boost mood, or reduce hyperarousal, but nobody talks about reducing this brain fog, which severely impacts your ability to hold down a job. Or even causes you to just walk away and forget you have the stove on.
Thoughts, resources, advice?
What even is brain fog? Why do folks living with major, chronic, and bipolar depression, general and panic anxiety, and/or ptsd seem to get it?

2023.03.26 07:16 Darth_Meow94 Secret Clearance and Debt

I just accepted a job offer with a defense contractor and submitted my application for a secret clearance two weeks ago. I’m really excited to start my career at this company but I’m afraid my finances may delay or ruin this opportunity. I have about $15k in student loans, $20k in personal loans, and $2k in collections from an old medical debt. Other than that, I don’t have any other “red flags” such as drug use, but I’m wondering if anyone has been a similar situation? I’m hoping to get a interim granted, partly to pay off debt by starting work earlier. Has anyone been in a situation like this?

2023.03.26 07:15 Embarrassed_Focus_15 I’m thinking of moving back to my country even if I am one year away from qualifying for a permanent resident card

trigger warnings: anxiety, depression
I (29, F) moved to Montreal five years ago. It had always been my dream to live abroad and Canada seemed like a good choice. I studied French for almost a year and then ended up in a college program I didn’t love because I felt pressured to accept since my student visa process was a big mess.
For the next part it’s important for y’all to know that for the past 10 years I’ve dealt with depression, anxiety and insomnia.
So here is when my true problems started. During my last year at this college, I suffered a really bad depressive episode. I got a referral to see a psychiatrist here but it would take about six months. My parents decided I should go back to city for a week to see a psychiatrist. She diagnosed me with Bipolar Disorder Type 2 and suddenly many things made sense. I started on medication and came back to Montreal to finish my degree.
My current living situation is complicated. I have rented a bedroom with all included for the past 5 years, and the couple I live with have been my second family. However, in the past years I’ve noticed that the husband is starting to act like a child. I know that happens when people get older but I started noticing that he took pleasure in annoying me. For him is harmless but to me is mentally exhausting. He is a very good man and she is a saint but the husband’s attitude is tiring. You can’t have a conversation with him because he never takes it seriously.
Last October I went back to my country for six months. I had to see some doctors and honestly I needed a break from my housing situation. I received my PGWP and returned two weeks ago. I was excited about finding a job and finally getting an apartment for myself. Listen, I’m almost 30 and I’ve never lived alone.
The thing is I’ve been applying for jobs for months (since before I returned) and I’ve only gotten 2 interviews. Added that to my housing situation and the fact that I miss my family terribly gave me a big panic attack last week. The worst in my life.
I’m seriously considering going back to my country. My parents support this decision but the thing is if I get a job here and work for a year, I can apply for my PR card which I guess is what I have always wanted. But right now, mentally I’m bad. I cry several times a day, I don’t leave my bed, I’m angry all the time, I’ve stopped eating and I’m pretty sure everyone at the house I live in has had enough of me. I’m scared I might end up doing something to harm myself if I stay in this place any longer.
Another reason to go back is that I’m an only child. I don’t have a big family, so it’s just my parents, grandma and me. I also recently found out I might not be able to have kids and tbh I’ve never even had a relationship. My small family is all I have and my dad told me that I shouldn’t “put my life on hold because of them” but I can’t push away this feeling that I’m wasting precious time with them. In the future, when they are no longer here I’ll be all alone and I’m sure I’ll regret all the moments I’ve only been part of through a screen. I want to be with them and moving to another country can wait or so I feel.
Would I be making a mistake if I went back home?

2023.03.26 07:08 Hazy_Hills1830 Behavioral issues to look out for in daycare environment (awareness discussion)

I had a customer come in with her dog for his 1st day of dog daycare. As expected, she had lots questions and I was more than happy to answer them and reassure her as much as I could, however the customer was surprised by my response when I brought up some key behaviors I've noticed dogs performing in daycare that could cause problems in group. The owner mentioned she wished she would have known some of the info I gave her before she put her dog in daycare (I'll elaborate more on this further down) and I thought it may be a good idea to bring awareness to some of the behaviors that (in my experience) often seem to start at home.
** To preface this discussion, I am not a dog trainer, behaviorist, or professional by any means. But I have been working with dogs currently at my job for 3+ years now, and have made working with dogs a career choice since I turned 15. Comments and open discussion (especially from my fellow daycare people) is welcome!

#1- Water Play: One of the best parts of my job is catering to all of our water lovers at my facility. Summer is the perfect time to bust out our dog pools, splash pads, pupsicles (large frozen ice cubes), and sprinklers. However, the hoses we use to fill our pools and engage in water play are first and foremost TOOLS. We use them to rinse off the turf yards, dogs that roll in vomit, play equipment, etc. The problem comes in with owners that allow their dogs to play in the hose. Specifically, dogs that develop fixations on the hose and have limited ability to sit and stay while we use the hoses. During the past 2 years we have had dogs jump up and bite employees while trying to get at the hose because they're so fixated on "catching the water". Often, this ends up with gnarly bites. Big and small dogs have caused ER visits, staples, stitches, and everything else you can imagine. I always recommend that if owners DO allow their dogs to play in the hose at home to use sprinklers and/or work on their dog's ability to sit and stay for prolonged periods of time. For obvious reasons, this behavior can be dangerous, regardless of the breed/size of the dog. Please keep this in mind guys!

#2- Laser Pointers: I feel like this is pretty obvious, but please don't use laser pointers on your dogs. They are cat toys for a reason. But if you don't have an idea on what laser pointers do, it's pretty much the same as listed above. Last year a german shepherd latched on to my wrist attempting to catch the glare on my apple watch. I had a hefty medical bill, and now I'm super cautious about anything that reflects in group for obvious reason. "Laser Pointer Syndrome" as we call it at my job, turns into a weird obsessive disorder that generally translates to dogs chasing after anything that reflects. Water from a hose, glares from phone screens (we take photos for parents in group during downtime), etc. So just uh, don't do it.

#3- Humping: Another behavior I feel like is really obvious to most dog owners. But if you don't know, humping during play is not an acceptable behavior. It causes frustration, stress, fights. If you notice your dog humping other dogs whether at home or wherever else, correct it. I had one lady tell me she thought it meant her dog was "really happy to make new friends". Negative. We don't allow it in group, and we work with the owners to correct this behavior. Please don't just let it happen at home.

#4- Third Wheeling: At my job we call third-wheeling "unbalanced play". Dogs are only allowed to play in pairs to prevent play from becoming unbalanced. If another dog comes in and tries to intervene with the pair playing, we stop it immediately using redirections, obedience exercises, slip leading and walking the dog away, etc. We do this to ensure none of the dogs get frustrated or ganged up on. Basically, it's another safety measure to prevent stress, tension, and fights in our play groups.

#5- Fixations: I feel like this behavior is more so genetic because I've noticed this behavior happen in very specific breeds (mainly dogs like frenchies, english bulldogs, boxers), but I have had people tell me they've encouraged this behavior at home. To elaborate, we had a 4 year old english bulldog with a weird obsession with rubber soles on shoes. When the Crocs trend resurfaced this dog had a field day knocking my coworkers down, gnawing off rubber soles on shoes, and no matter what we did with this dog we could not break her fixations. I mean we tried spraying our shoes with vinegar, redirecting to various different activities, kennel breaks, and whatever else you could think of to no avail. The issue really came to a head when this dog latched on to my coworker's foot and started shredding her crocs. When another coworker intervened to slip lead the dog and redirect her the bulldog latched on to my coworkers ankle and would not let go. It was terrifying. That same day we removed the dog from group right after the incident, called Mom to get her and had a sit down while reviewing the tapes with Mom. Mom said the dog had been doing this as a puppy (tearing up rubber soles from shoes around the house) and that she always thought it was hilarious. In fact it was so hilarious they would play games of tug-of-war and fetch with the shoes she demolished. I do believe these fixations are mainly genetic based, but if your dog fixates on random objects around the house don't encourage it. At the very least, please give us a heads up so we can remove those objects from group.

These are the top 5 weird behaviors I went over with the owner before her puppy had his first day. He did great by the way, but mom tossed laser pointer in the trash and vowed to use a sprinkler when engaging in water play with puppy to try to prevent issues from occurring later down the line:)

2023.03.26 06:59 Foreign_Medium_3766 Trying to figure out whats wrong to find right medication

I'm 24 been dealing with anxiety and depression issues for 5-6 years. If its not one then its the other that makes my life hard to live, I've tried diff meds(prozac, fluox, lexapro, nootropics), natural supplements, good diet, exercise, sunlight, therapy, meditation, good sleep, cut/limit caffeine, drugs, but I've been having lots of problems recently affecting work, socializing and overall life/health. My life sucks due to my own fault and I feel like a loser but I'm trying to improve and find more things that make me happy and lead to success. I don't really feel depressed as much, my motivation varies throughout the week and I know I could be doing better but I don't know if I'm really depressed, I've taken a few tests and usually score high on anxiety, low to med on depression. And so I'm trying to figure out whats wrong in order to get the right help/medication.
So what I mean is I can be talking to someone and just let negativity out through words and sometimes people comment like "why are you being negative." Along with that its overthinking when around other people(mostly who I don't know well) and by myself worrying about the future and my success, sometimes I think negatively about the past leading me to my current situation. Thinking that other people are thinking negative about me, and having a hard time being social. I have figured out how to fake it to some extent but I think others pickup on that and its harder to make friends. Its starting to affect my work, right now I'm doing construction at a jobsite and know I look upset/mad because I'm anxious and makes me look unfriendly, and also I have a hard time making conversation, and this also hurts for job interviews. When I was a delivery driver it was easier because I was on my own most of the day.
So far what has worked best is Prozac but its also made me feel like a zombie. My anxiety is lessened but I feel emotionless, like I'm just watching my life, other ssris have made me feel similar. So I would prefer not to get back on that and try something else, I have been doing research on nootropics and other drugs that might help, but I'm just going to keep trying everything because I can't really keep living like this, I would appreciate any advice or recommendations.

2023.03.26 06:46 ApostateProphet56 What I discovered last year after coming out of a cult

am a 19yo guy from a minority religion in India. I always had doubts about my faith from start but always used to put em on backburner until last year when I took a break and made up my opinions and first time tried to understand my surroundings. I became a atheist tho closeted and fully left religion during that phase and am still closeted
Here are the few things I learnt-
I always thought of my family as more religious compared to peers but not to the fundamentalist or fanatic level. Turns out, I was wrong when I tried to understand their viewpoints and thongs which they made me do. For Example- I was gonna go in IT sector but they forced me into medical field just because I would have to fly across the country to attend IT college and will get a job there while in medical field and college located nearby, they would be able to control my life. Furthermore, I would have got financially independent as a 23 yo but now I will have to wait till I turn 29 which surely works in their favour. 28-29 is the age for arranged marriages in India and they will marry me to some ultra-religious girl who matches their thought process
They care more about their religion than anything else and will use emotional blackmail to threats to using the ultra-religious social group to create pressure and make me fall in line regarding each and every decision I have to take on my life.
Consuming any type of entertainment media from movies to songs were prohibited. Even making close friends was frowned upon (to maintain sole monopoly of family and community) leave alone talking to opposite sex. It started making sense when I started to learn about cults and how they cut off people from society. I WAS LITERALLY IN A CULT
I don't really know what to do or how to escape this shit. It's eating me up. I am still unsure whether I will get the money I will earn or even able to come out(my cousin sister has a job and money goes to bank account controlled by her parents). I don't wanna miss on my 20s and what youth has to offer.
Will it be even worthy to come out as a 30 yo when everyone is settling down and you will have to start from the scratch?

2023.03.26 06:41 SnooHedgehogs2356 Written from the perspective of 'Henry the Panel Truck' for Denny DuVall

Henry's Life Story
I was born in 1950! Yes, I was shiny and new once upon a time. No one kept track of my first ten years of life. I was 'just a truck' to my previous owners. I ended up in Ocotillo Wells, California, run to death, with my old flathead six motor froze up. My owner at that time sold me to Denny DuVall for $35 in 1960, and thus begins my story.
Now as you look at my old primer paint, with my dents and rust, you might believe that I am still on my death bed. However, if you look under my hood, you will see a new 350 horse GM Crate motor. I'm also sporting a Cadillac clip, with disc brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, and an aluminum cross flow radiator. Topped off with a rebuilt Chevy truck transmission. A "Vintage Air" a/c unit, and tempered glass in all my doors!! OK, now back to 1960. Denny's original plan was to go in with a friend of his, buy me, resell me for a couple of hundred dollars, split the money between them, and run.
Now I must tell you that Denny's friend was not able to come up with his half of the $35. (That's $17.50 to those of you who are paying attention!!) Now Denny, being the "Financial Wizard" that he is, took another two weeks to come up with the kings ransom of $35 to rescue me from certain death!! I almost signed up for counseling on that one!!
Then – Denny buys an old wrecked '51 Ford for $15.00 (money is no object to him) and installs the flat head six motor in me. I didn't realize that he cleaned swimming pools, and he would drive me 100 miles a day, six days a week. So, a year and a half later, that motor gave up the ghost, and I limped home, with my rods banging, two cylinders gone, smoking something terrible, and no oil pressure. In spite of my internal hemorrhaging, I got him home!
And so, began the legacy of a total of ten used motors, that Denny would install in me, over the following forty years of continuous service. Not to mention the million miles that went along with that! It's a miracle that I look this good!!! In 1961, Denny got married. They had Michelle in '63; Lissa in '64, Ben in '67, and Matthew in '69. Life in Borego was good. I was into motor three by then. This family life is pretty cool. Once when Chelle and Lissa were still quite small, maybe five- and six-years- old, they were playing, "drive the panel truck." Somehow, Chelle got my motor started.
Lissa sat on the floor and worked the pedals, Michelle steered. Wegot about 150 feet on our journey, when "fleet foot" Denny caught up with us, and brought our adventure to an end. Perhaps the girls and I will continue our journey at a later date.
In '73, Denny's Dad passed away. He and his family moved to Escondido with his Mom, so she could be closer to medical facilities. She passed away in '74. Three months later his fourteen-year marriage came to an end. This was not a very happy time for him, or me. All I could do was take him from place to place, and give him shelter.
For the next five years or so, (in Denny's quest to find his 'center') consisted of going from place to place. He would stay long enough for the wind to change direction, and we would be off, again!!
The hum of my motor, and the changing scenery, would comfort him, as we headed out on a new adventure. I guess I should also tell you that his other, "source of comfort," was his lady friends. We would all take trips to the redwoods, Oregon coast, the desert, etc.
Not to tell stories out of school, – Denny went through more, "relationships" than I've gone through tires and oil changes combined in my forty plus years with him!! Oy Vey, the sacrifices I've made!!!
As time goes by, "Tumble Weed" and I end up in South Carolina for four years. During that time we go back to Pa. to meet his birth Mother (another story-another time) Then it's to Deer Lodge, Montana. Of course, Denny (in his ultimate wisdom) gets us there in December, when it's colder than a mother-in -law's kiss. Hell, my gasoline even froze up!!! Will any of my wisdom ever rub off on him?? If I ever find that person he got that $35.00 from, he'll have tire tracks on himself, from head to toe!!! By mid-January, Denny has had enough of Montana. He's down to .37 cents, and very cold. He calls his cousin Tom. Tom sends us $200, and we're off for Southern Ca. Cousin Tom has a job waiting for Denny at San Onofre. He works Continued from Page 11there for a year. Then we relocate in the Escondido area. Denny meets a lady there, and they hook up for ten years. We all move up to Ramona. This ten-year thing was not destined to last. In '93 he and I move to the Julian area, where Denny does his paint and body thing. A trade that he has been in and out of since '57. "Tumble Weed," by now has acquired a 28' motor home to live in, and a '61 "manx." A road legal sand buggy – for those of you who don't know. Yes – I've learned to share Denny with other vehicles. It gives me a well deserved rest, from time to time!!
So – from '93 through '99 it's living in or around Julian, Borego, Fallbrook, Escondido, and Poway. Going from place to place, working on other people's antique cars and hot rods. As you can tell – He didn't do any paint and body work on me !! Nooo, I got to carry the commercial compressor, and all of the paint and body tools in me, run to Escondido for paint and supplies etc. While he made everyone else beautiful!!! But I'm NOT bitter – honest I'm not!!!
Now during that time from '93 through '99 there were trips every Sept. to Bellingham, Wa., to see his kids, and grandkids. Plus trips to different states for different reasons. One of these days, my wheels will just FALL off !!! Don't get me wrong – we have a LOT of fun on these trips. We meet lots of neat people, and make lots of great friends along the way! Now – maybe, if Denny would sit still long enough, some nice lady could drive a nail through one foot, and I could have a nice home with a BIG garage and a – never mind He's got me on "high test" and my mind wonders from time to time. Hey, I have my fantasies too you know!! OK – well, would you believe in '99 Denny moves to Poway and gets a (hang on to me) REAL JOB!!! You know, show up at 8 a.m., leave at 5 p.m., Monday though Friday, pay check every Friday thing!!!! Several of his friends are still in therapy over this deal!! I hope they get better soon!! This, has also contributed to all of the things that have been done to me over the past year, and more to come!!! I just LOVE it!!

2023.03.26 06:13 name_generator3000 Am I'm making the right decision?

I recently applied and interviewed for a new role. They extended me a job offer with comparable pay to my current salary. I've countered asking for a bit more to sweeten the deal. I'm very much leaning to taking the new opportunity regardless. I'm not happy in my current job but other than my job duties I love where I work. It's been 4 years and I did change roles once but there hasn't been any opportunities to pursue a role Id be better suited in. It's affecting my mental health how unsatisfied I am in my current job. I'll list the pros and cons to each role and would love to hear what others think, plus any points I'll missing:
Current role: Pros- - close to home/kids school (2 mile radius) - good culture and people/aligned with my values - gained value experience and insight - great benefits/superior to new job offer - employer pays 100% for employee only medical coverage & 6% to retirement
Cons- - dissatisfied with role/scope of work duties - causing mental anguish/high anxiety - not performing well/mismatched skills - small organization/few opportunities for growth or movement
Job offer: Pros- - comparable salary, currently negotiating for a high starting to cover increased cost of benefits - $5,000 sign on bonus with 2 year commitment - $5,000 in PTO payout at preview job if leaving - job duties will match my skills, potential high job satisfaction - larger organization/more opportunity for growth and movement - opportunity to get new experience and job skills (this job is what I have a degree in but have yet to acquire direct experience in in my previous roles)
Cons- - 45 minute commute ($100/mo in gas increase spending) - the unknowns: will I like or fit the culture/coworkers - employer covers less of cost of benefits: medical will be $140/mo and employer matches 3% in retirement
It really boils down to convenience and great benefits but poor job satisfaction to possible high job satisfaction with a long commute with the unknowns of what I could be entering into. I'm not opposed to moving closer to the new job to help reduce committing time and have been looking into that option but as we all know interest rates are terrible and I'm in Central Florida so house prices are still high and not budging. I'm not entirely sure it's feasible and I definitely would want to get into the new role and see if it could be long term before I go through the trouble of moving. So with all that, what do you think is the right choice? Are there any other elements to consider I've not thought?

2023.03.26 06:11 incywince I don't think I can have another and I'm very sad about it.

We (36f, 37m) deliberated for a long time before having our first child. I wanted kids because we were both very family oriented people and as the years passed we saw our families get old and I lost my dad. I wanted more family. My husband was agreed on the big picture but he didn't like how much time childcare would take away from his life. I felt like we'd be able to manage when our parents did on so much less. My mom was willing to provide free childcare and generally we had a very positive atmosphere in our families for a child. My husband felt good about it eventually and we had a child.
We got pregnant right when lockdown happened. My mom wasn't as great help as she said she'd be and we realized we can't rely on her for childcare. We found a great nanny and kept working, but things got too hard and at 18mo I quit to be a SAHM, work on my mental health and work on a side project that I considered very personally important.
My daughter who is now 2.5yo is very demanding. She's very very very active and highly emotional. She has needed 1-1 care all this while and only now does it seem like we can send her to preschool. Things have gotten better as she's grown up, but she's still very demanding. I don't mind it honestly, it's very rewarding as she learns very quickly and is the funnest. But there's just no bandwidth for much else. She needs a lot of emotional handholding.
I'd really like to have another child, but I don't know how I can even manage it. My husband has stated he doesn't want to do the baby phase again, because our daughter was very difficult through it.
But we'd really like to have another child. Just.... I can't even imagine how to make it possible.
How do I even begin to think about this? I feel like I need to hunker down and just do it now or we'll all regret it in the long run.

Thank you in advance!

2023.03.26 06:06 Astronaut64 Hypothetical: Switching to IBR from New REPAYE in a few years

I am a first year medical resident with 330k Loans and 65k salary. Residency is 6 years for me, so I will have ~5/6 years toward PSLF. I will make around 65-75k until I finish residency in 2027 or 2028.
Plan to get married in 2024 or 2025. Significant other makes 100k and has 90k in loans.
Just so we are all on the same page, some terminology:
My goals: Keep my options open for PSLF, while minimizing interest accumulation, in case I wanted to get a private practice job after my 6 year residency that pays better but doesn't qualify for PSLF.
Strategy 1 (assumes no changes will happen to IDR plans): During my six year residency, to save on ~50% interest subsidy I would enroll in OLD REPAYE and then switch to PAYE either 1) end of year when I get married likely 2024/2025 or 2) the year I graduate from residency and start making a good salary (~400k for my field in public sector, vs ~600k in private sector). I am aware this would cause my interest to capitalize, but it really doesn't seem like a huge deal because it is simple interest at 6% and at most I would have 35k in new interest by the end of residency. The main reason to do this is to avoid including my significant other's income in my IDR payment and also keeping the option open for me to utilize the PAYE 10-year standard repayment cap when I start earning 400-600k a year if I decide to continue pursuing PSLF. The year I graduate residency I would still be using the prior year tax return, so I would still qualify for PAYE since I would have a partial financial hardship thanks to my prior year AGI.
Strategy 2 (assumes Biden IDR goes into effect in 2023 as it is written/proposed): Start off in OLD REPAYE and get auto-enrolled into NEW REPAYE. File as single or married filing separately to exclude significant other's income and take advantage of the ~100% interest subsidy. This way I end up at the end of residency with essentially zero interest. When I start making a good salary in 7 years, I will switch to "IBR" to take advantage of the payment caps (I would still qualify for partial financial hardship, again thanks to prior year AGI). From what I have read about BIDEN IDR, IBR would be staying around and I would still qualify for IBR (which has a payment caps just like PAYE) because I would be under 120 payments at the time I was switching. IBR seems very similar to PAYE for borrowers with first loan after 2014. Another benefit of this strategy is there would be no interest to capitalize when I switch to IBR.
Questions:
Thank you.

I started making YouTube videos in my final year of medical schoolat Cambridge University. It was Summer 2017 and I started off with 0 views, 0 subscribers and $0 in revenue.
18 months later, my YouTube channel was at 100,000 subscribersand was making as much money as my full-time job working as a doctor in the UK. And now, as of May 2022, my channel has over 3 million subscribersand I make over £100,000 ($130k) each monthfrom it (and over $350,000 per month from the business as a whole), with 5-10 hours of effort each week. I know — it’s bloody ridiculous.
