2023.06.10 05:34 SangHellE56 [PAID] Writer seeking team for one shot graphic novel, bloody martial arts tale set in the Holy Land
| || | submitted by SangHellE56 to ComicBookCollabs [link] [comments]
My name's Andy. I'm making the initiative tonight, in regards to what's been a rough past few months for me, to seek a team for a graphic novel, with pay starting for an artist who can draw out my manuscript.
This comic is one I am looking to submit to Image in the long run, but am baby step careful in creating, due to my admitted lack of income until I get Disability. It is recommended to anyone interested that you get familiar as I have with Image Comics' submissions guidelines, because they ultimately leave series cost up to creators to determine post publication win.
To entice interest though, this comic is from the ashes of a children's book project of mine, of which I have changed the aesthetic of heavily.
Its set in 8th Century AD Canaan, and follows a young Jew named Isaiah Pamson. He's a closet follower of Semite Heathenry, and goes to a secret martial arts center for people like him, who still refer to Yahweh as El Shaddai.
After a scuffle with assassins from Syria, he is tasked by the school's elder with recovering the Lunar Scrolls, eight documents set to be burned by the Holy Romans, and use their techniques to fight the ruthless General Tytus Arpius in the Field of Megiddo. He sets out accompanied by Ceston, a boxer from Greece, Nasabu, a Naga from India, and Goyet, an elderly Ethiopian cryptid (forgot the exact name of the type of creature). Together they enlighten themselves in the ways of spiritual self defense. :)
As a preview, I have included bust reference sketches of the main characters.
If interested, hit me at the following email:
2023.06.10 05:34 princealigorna What Your Favorite Composer Says About You 2
Tchaikovsky: You like literal bombast in your music. As in actual fucking explosives.
Shostakovich: You believe that adversity makes the best art, and what greater adversity is there than being forced to write nationalistic anthems at gunpoint?
Ravel: You like doing discography deep dives of one-hit wonders (which is actually really cool, because a lot of those artists actually have long careers with a lot of rewarding stuff outside of that big hit. Kudos on your patience and your taste)
Schoenberg: You believe life is an existential horror film and like your music to reflect that.
Penderecki: You think Schoenberg fans are pussies that don't go deep enough into the horror of everyday existence.
Cage: If you don't listen to really weird prog rock, you should definitely listen to really weird prog rock.
Crumb: You walk the fine line between genius and madness with every breath you take.
Varese: If there's anything you love more than tape recorders, it's the sound of percussion orchestras.
La Monte Young: You bathe in the soothing aura of drones.
Conlon Nancarrow: You are that cat that keeps pawing a single note on the piano while your owner videotapes you and calls you a genius
Pierre Schaeffer: Your two biggest loves in life are tape recorders and trains.
Gilbert and Sullivan: You're afraid to admit you like musicals, so you lie to everyone and say you love opera instead. It's okay, buddy. Everyone loves musical. There's no shame in it.
Gershwin: *Bee Movie voice* So, do you like jazz?

2023.06.10 05:33 TuzaHu LESSON MY TWO BOYS TAUGHT ME A YEAR AFTER THEIR DEATHS
1989 my two beautiful boys, age 7 and 9 were playing in the yard when an intoxicated man decided to drive his car, fell asleep and take their lives. My world changed at that moment. Family drama with shame and blame didn't help but I made it through the necessary acts to bury my boys. I froze up. I simply froze up. I took a leave of absence from my job as an RN in a hospital, my supervisor was so understanding and supportive. At home I had paint and covered with windows to let no light in and I sat in darkness for a year never leaving the house. My friends were wonderful, they fed me. They went shopping and brought me food, I ordered pizza. I sat in the dark not knowing if it was night or day. My friends never pushed me to do more than I could, they just fed me, visited, brought groceries and items I needed and let me work myself out of being frozen.
A year later, I was watching a talk show one morning. I didn't have cable so I had to only watch local stations. I was laying on the living room sofa and noticed some sparkling lights up in the corner of the room. I thought it was an electrical fire and sat up quickly to get a better view. It looked like sparklers burning, lots of them, beautiful white lights growing larger and in number until they were about a yard wide and 2 feet tall, a bundle of thousands of white, silver like sparkles flashing brightly. From this light source I clearly heard the voices of two men, maybe both upper 20's in age, very articulate, well educated and professional. They both took turns talking to me, very abruptly, sternly, with force, meaning and impatience with me. It was like I was being severely reprimanded. In part they said, "You have been holding us back from very important business we MUST attend to. We can not do the work we need to do that is so very important as you are constantly holding us back. We can not allow this to continue, you have to let go of us so we can move into our jobs and do the work we are suppose to be doing. Your constant attachment and holding on has stifled our ability to work and what we need to do is so very important. You just have to let go and let us move on. You are in the way of the great work we are assigned to do." I was being sternly spoken to by my two boys that now sounded like young executives. The only 'nice' thing they said to me was one of them said, "We appreciate what you did for us but now you just have to let us go." I was berated on and on, like I was in court or in trouble at work in an HR meeting. It was not pleasant but it got my attention pronto. I replied, "I'm so sorry, I had no idea, yes, of course I'll let you do what you need to do. I miss you both so much but I had no idea I was holding you back from what you needed to be doing." It was like being pulled over by the cops, and told I did something wrong and I was trying to make it right. I admitted I was holding on to them but had no idea it was causing them grief from where they are now. Their voices stopped, the sparkling light diminished in size and brightness into just being a plain corner of the wall. I put my hand on that spot, it felt like a normal wall.
I got in the shower, got cleaned up, had to call someone to jump my car as it's not been started in over a year and drove to my old work place to put in an application again. My supervisor had moved on. I did a quick interview and got hired again. I started orientation the next day. The encounter with my two boys was a jolt to my system. I went from frozen to thawed quickly. My deep mourning of my sons immediately changed to missing them, in a healthy way. There was no thinking about it, the stern talking to I got, the lecture, the demand that I let them move on let me move on, too. Giving them their freedom to do the work they have to do gave me the freedom to do the work I have to do still, too. I enjoyed letting the light back into my house as I slowly started using a razor blade to scrape the paint off the windows. It took months but it was so healing to turn from darkness to light again. Hospice concepts were coming to America at that time, from the UK. I followed up with a local hospice and soon was the charge RN a 10 bed inpatient unit for terminally ill patients. I was a Hospice RN for 17 years, including 5 years as a pediatric Hospice Nurse. The loss of my children gave me the insight to support others that are transitioning into their next life, or career as I see it now. I had many, many amazing experience with many of my patients spreading their wings and practicing moving on before and after their deaths. My experience with my boys gave me the strength to support my dying patients and the family and friends they were leaving behind.
I've not seen my boys since. I don't want to disturb them from the work they need to do. That lecture I got that day was enough!! Of course I think of them so often but never clinging, but now knowing they matured, grew up, and have important work they do that is valuable to them wherever they are. That makes me smile. I hope my story can brighten someone else. We go on, there is no end. I did an interview about being a Hospice RN and some of the spirit encounters I've had, including this story about my boys. I know I'm not allowed to provide the link in this sub group.

What You Get: MODULE 1: The Presuppositional Playbook Psychology
The most fundamental difference in face to face, vs virtual selling is the absolute need to have the prospect be pushing for the sale. They must be the one driving for the solution. They have to want it more than you do. They have to be more engaged in the process than they are face to face. When you sell virtually the more you talk, the worse your close rates will be. When you are sitting with a prospect together, it’s easy to have the momentum of the meeting and the relationship you’ve developed together carry the sale to the finish line. This does not happen virtually. There is a distance, a void between you and the prospect that is easy for them to take your information and disappear, taking it to another advisor they know better. Presuppositional Selling does two important things. First, it structures the sales interaction in such a way that the prospect discovers intrisically the problems, pains, gains, and desire for a solution. One of the most powerful ways P2 selling works is helping the prospect see what they have not seen before. It changes context. It changes the frame. The Crucial 1st Appointment The first appointment in the leverage point that determines the success or failure of your entire sales process. Do a poor first appointment by talking too much, or ‘spilling your candy in the lobby’ and you’re doomed. Prospects won’t show up on the next call, and they will be lost and gone forever. There is an art and a science to doing the first appointment effectively and you’ll see exactly how to do it right. It starts with our 13 steps first appointment playbook. In this playbook you’ll get:
- How to steamroll the first 6 common objections you may receive at the beginning of a first appointment.
- How to create authority in the first 30 seconds of a first appointment, by doing the EXACT opposite of what your prospect expects…and what every other salesperson does.
- The Credibility Transfer: How to use “borrowed credibility” to get your prospects to trust you—even if they don’t know who you are.
- The PLI “Power Switch” Principle that flips the power dynamic, so YOU are perceived to have the power (and not the prospect).
- The One Eyed Man principle that STOPS the prospect from treating you like a salesperson.
- RAPID SUCCESS IN JUST 20 MINUTES: Learn how to do a first appointment in just 20 minutes over the phone, no technology needed.
- The Decision Matrix: This is the most critical part of the entire sale…and it’s made right here. (Most producers hit only 1 out of the 4 keys to the decision matrix and it costs them sales constantly.)
- STOP THE HATERS: How to ensure competitors, incumbents, and other ‘characters’ don’t blow up your sales with bad advice to your clients. (PLEASE, if you do nothing else, learn this critical component to stop losing deals needlessly!)
- The “golden thread of motivation”: This is the thread that holds the entire sale together. When a prospect forgets why they called, why they are meeting with you, or why they are buying, you will fail in closing the sale.
- The “Fried Chicken Rule”that ensures your prospect is engaged and selling themselves, not tuning out.
- How to set ROCK SOLID second appointments to ensure you never get a ‘no show’ on your next appointment.
- The SOLUTION step: How to ensure you are sharing just enough to whet their appetite and create burning curiosity for the next appointment to get them coming back for more, (while being 100% compliant!)
2023.06.10 05:32 costcopeppypizza am i a pushover
I (21F) am in a LDR with my girlfriend (20F).
We are busy with work usually, and sometimes our offdays conflict with each other. However today is the day we were both free.
A week ago, my friends invited me to go to the beach with them previously and... Lets just say I don't go outside very much and I'm rarely ever invited to things. So I hopped onto the opportunity, only to find out that my girlfriend is sad because she misses me and want to hang out (online gaming / watching stuff) on our offdays. It's very rare for her to even ask to hang out with me, so I've been debating and conflicting in my head about going or not.
To give more context... I'm usually the one wanting to make plans with my girlfriend but my girlfriend always declines it and is 'never in the mood' to do things, especially with the things I'm interested in. She's constantly too tired to do things which is fine, she's allowed to decline and not be interested in things.
It's just that whenever we do hangout it's either stuff she's interested in or.. doing nothing. Infact she finds it exhausting to talk to me when I try to make conversation when we 'hang out', so we really do nothing. She prefers to be in group setting so she can pop into conversation whenever and listen to whenever VS me wanting to talk because I'm an extrovert.
Of course, I've spoken to her about it many times but she said its due to the fact it's hard to get into new things and that she's too tired. Which is understandable, I shouldn't force it.. But I feel like it's super unfair?
Back to the main topic, today I pretended I had a stomachache to not go to the beach with my friends. So I chose to hang out with my girlfriend instead, only for my girlfriend to not do anything with me at all. Despite her telling me that we were gonna have fun today and the like, instead we just texted for a bit and then she went to bed. And I can't just help but regret heavily that I wasn't able to go to the beach and I KNEW that something like this would happen.
Am I a pushover? If so, is there any way to be better about it? I really want to spend time with my girlfriend but it feels like nothing is working. I'd love advice on this!

No matter how this ends, I just wanted to say I freaking love this team. Nothing went our way today, but nobody quit. We weren't even supposed to win one game against the Bucks, but we made it to the Finals.
It sucks to lose, but man I love watching and rooting for the heat every year, no matter what happens.
Love everyone. It's special to be part of this fanbase

MODULE 3 Automated Conversion Ecosystem #1 (ACE 1):
The Enchanting First Encounter
Back in 2009, subscribing to an email list meant something.
In 2023. urm. a bit less so.
In many cases, it’s a response to FOMO (of closing a landing page and not getting a lead magnet). The end result; prospects are more oversubscribed and under-committed than ever.
That’s why, In Module 3, you’ll be given two powerful playbooks for creating an enchanting first encounter that instantly sets you above any other coach or course creator they may be following or considering along with you. Highlights
2 next generation “top funnel” conversion playbooks for accelerating trust, encouraging engagement, and amplifying resonance. The simple, 45 second protocol to do immediately when a new subscriber signs up that has been proven to boost opens, clicks and conversions by up to 300% How to seamlessly integrate your fb group with your email CRM to create a holistic view of EVERY potential customer in your business Why your traditional “welcome sequence” is dead, and doing little-to-nothing to ascend your lead; and what to do instead to accelerate the transformation from Point A to Point Buyer Why normal “engagement posts” do nothing but satisfy the algorithm; and how to create “ROI-Rich engagement experiences” that help you segment your list while synching valuable voice-of-customer data into your CRM. How to use Social Singularity™ to create a seamless experience between your facebook group and your email list. MODULE 4 Automated Conversion Ecosystem #1 (ACE 2):
The Ascension Amplifier
The second Automated Conversion Ecosystem you’ll be working through overlaps with what’s traditionally referred to as “the middle of the funnel”.
A murky, purgatory state that’s often the longest, most confusing, and challenging to do effectively.
Many coaches and course creators have a bulk of their email list who will sit in this “in-between” state for 2, 3 or even 5 years before either becoming a customer or unsubscribing from the list.
With the strategies and playbooks you’ll implement in Module 4, you’ll help “pre-customers” cross that chasm much faster; and come to clearer, more confident, and more empowering decisions about you and your program. Highlights
Conversion Playbook #3 – Social Singularity Pt. 2 (Channels: Fb Group, Email, DM) Conversion Playbook #4 – Webinar Registration Rev Up (Channels; Webinar, Email) Conversion Playbook #5 – The Lead-Score Lift Up (Email, DM)
2023.06.10 05:32 girlnamedkat96 Opinions on induction
Okay so this is my 3rd baby, my due date is July 1st. I’ve been asked whether or not I wanted to get induced and I’m conflicted. I was almost pressured into getting it done early with my 2nd baby by being told it would lower the risk of a c section and also by my delivering dr essentially threatening to not come to my delivery (he didn’t). I’ve been induced for both my babies but things went differently for both. 1st one I was induced after my due date, I was in labor from 3pm to 12am (induced at 5pm fully dilated at 10pm) no complications besides getting a fever. With my 2nd my water broke Sunday around 4am I was at the hospital around 8 or 9am Monday, was induced around 12-2pm and didn’t deliver until around 12am Wednesday morning, my due date was that Thursday. Labor was painful and long, my daughter essentially was stuck. She’d come out a lil bit and go right back in, it got to the point we needed forceps. Idk if it was due to one being induced late vs being induced early or even from my not going to the hospital until a day after my water broke or from just the “luck” of it. Any advice? I’ve been leaning towards getting it simply cause of how difficult it’s getting to move around but I’m still not sure.

2023.06.10 05:32 Rough-Stock-3794 Man, GT7 is so addicting and fun!
Never really been into racing games and been holding off for a bit purchasing it. Picked up a used copy at gamestop, played with the controller... then wanted to try with a wheel, so then picked up a cheap one off Amazon for 120 bucks... Became even more enthralled by it, so then scoured facebook market place for a G29 wheel since the cheap wheel didn't have force feedback and finally copped on the stand, wheel, and shifter in great condition for $250 bucks. All this in a week's time.
Gotta say definitely highly recommended to anyone who has their VR legs and worth every penny.

2023.06.10 05:31 jokingonyou most embarrassing moment of my career just happened
I went to go eat with some colleagues. Nobody too "important" bust still good connections nonetheless...
The bill came it was like 300 bucks and I said "don't worry you guys I got this"... and they were so happy and in the moment I looked like such a cool dude...
Card comes back....
Dude, the awkwardness of figuring out what was going on and the looks they gave me, etc... it was just so cringey and awkward I fucking died on the inside.
Turned out my bank shut off my card because I was 35 miles outside their radius.
So FUCKING ANNOYING.
And there's nothing you can say to come back from that either. Everyone else had to foot the bill and I was the one who ended up getting a free meal.

2023.06.10 05:31 Kaniddus Dame for Claxton and all the picks
This is the trade
Portland receives: Nic Claxton, Ben Simmons, Patty Mills, Royce O'Neal, 2023 PHX pick (21st), 2025 PHX pick, 2027 PHX pick, 2028 PHX pick swap, 2029 PHX pick, 2029 DAL pick, and that Philly pick 2027 or 2028
Damian Lillard, Jusuf Nurkic
Here is my thinking for this trade.
I don't think that any single move or combination of moves can make Portland a real title contender in the near future. So lets send Dame to a destination he wants
We could ask for more wings like DFS or Cam Johnson but we love Dame and we want him to have a good shot next season so you can keep all those guys. We could even ask for more young guys like Cam Thomas or Day'Ron Sharpe but those guys suck and we don't want to waste any time developing them. They can even keep the 22nd pick this year, because we love Dame that much.
We get back Clax because its Damian fucking Lillard, and getting off Nurks bad contract is a plus. Clax can be a young defensive anchor going forward with some upside potential possibly.
We get back Ben Simmons, Royce O'Neale, and Patty Mills as straight salary filler. Maybe take on the Ben Simmons reclamation project and see what you can get out of him later down the line, but he doesn't really matter.
Move forward with Shaedon, the 3rd pick, Simons, Clax, and anybody else who makes themselves worth something down the line.
Dame gets a good home in Brooklyn with hopefully a solid shot at a title and Portland gets a nice start on a rebuild with a shit tonne of pick equity.
Any opinions on this albatross of a move?

I had 25 photos but reddit will only allow 20 at a time the others were examples of fighting 5s vs 6s
Fighting 5*s gives 40 battle chips per fight. Plus the 300 at the end sigil or no sigil.
Fighting 6*s is 60 battle chips per fight. Plus the 300 at the end sigil or no sigil.
(Fights must be won obviously)
After this research I've found there's no bonus period.
So unless I'm missing something please @Kabam fix this bug.
I'm currently 126,900+ in lost battle chips per sigil (only counting my 423 arena win streak not counting the two times I lost that streak at around 10)
If you've read this much thank you and I'm sorry for these extensive battlechips post this will be my last one.

2023.06.10 05:31 crestedlizardpoison weird things my dad did
I already know that he was sexually abusive on some ways, but there are some other bizarre behaviors I can’t make sense of. I am 18f.
TW- a lot • sometimes he would put his entire tongue inside my ear and roll it around in there. Often it would be in the mornings and the sensation would wake me up. I would push him away and tell him to stop and then he would just laugh when I got upset and tell me that he was just showing me that he loved me. • he ALWAYs used the bathroom with the door wide open. This is quite gross but he would shit really loudly every morning and we could all here it. We asked him to close the door but he said it didn’t matter cause we were family. • he often would not flush his poops in the morning, I would find them and have to flush for him. My mom and I told him he needed to flush, but he wouldn’t. • multiple times (I was probably 8-10ish) he would lift his butt up to my face and fart. And then laugh. This came with absolutely no warning. • when I was small, he would put me on his knee when I was naked and bounce me up and down. My vagina would rub on his leg and I remember that this was my favorite game because it felt good. (I was definitely under 6 at this time, I know I started masturbating when I was 4 and I think I learned it from this.) Would this be considered normal for a father to do since I was so young? • he would guilt trip me into rubbing and massaging his feet (I was older; between 13-16 probably). I would massage his bare feet and then he would moan I think (kind of grunt and sigh). He only wanted me to massage his feet, no one else. Then sometimes he would take my feet, and rub them so hard I would scream and then keep doing it and not let me pull away. He said it was supposed to hurt. He would tell me my feet were beautiful and perfect. • one more: I slept in the same bed as him (and my mom) until I was 7, and then I would often still sleep with them as well. I remember knowing that he would sleep naked, and I remember sometimes feeling his penis again my leg and then I would pull away really fast but he stayed the same. I don’t know if I moved my leg into his penis or the other way around. Is it normal for parents to sleep naked when their kid is in bed with them?
Anyways these are just a few of my memories, they are quite bizarre. I just started uncovering memories a few days ago, now that I am 18 and finally in a safe space, they are coming all at once. If you can figure out what these sort of things mean or have any ideas I would appreciate it. I am still very confused by it all.

2023.06.10 05:30 TobyToastAndaParrot pet tarantula question
if you get a sling or maybe a young tarantula that isn’t fully grown, could you put it straight into a regular enclosure? i am DEATHLY afraid of spiders/tarantulas but i still think they are incredibly cool and i really like the look of arboreal enclosure with animal skulls and big black tarantulas and i kinda wanna get a skeleton tarantula maybe but i reaaally don’t want to re-house it because im so scared of them 😂 so is that a thing you can do? (ps i know the skeleton tarantulas aren’t arboreal)

2023.06.10 05:30 MajorFoxy56 I Can't Keep Going.
It is ironic that I am writing this post in the first place. I had always been an introvert, someone who had found peace in being by his lonesome, away from the chaos of socializing with people to whom I had no idea if their feelings and thoughts of me were manipulations or genuine. To think I would type this out, ever, only goes to show me how much I've grown desperate...or perhaps how much the attempts of finding your dream beloved have begun to wound me.
Now, I find myself unable to just stomach the rejections, the silence, the loneliness that taunts me whenever I have to see those around me flourish and bloom with the treasures they seek. I just can't. I care little of those that'll tell me "you're still too young" to worry about love, because rest assured, my youth has been nothing less than absolute pain, constant manipulation and depression, and an all around shroud of sadness that I'll never shake from. I've nowhere been out of the darkness yet, so don't you dare assume that I am having it lovely and that I'm just a misguided youth.
I hear it is fine to live a life alone, without love or affection or even a partner. Yet, it always seems to be shunned or made fun of, like there's this stigma towards it.
But in the end, I've..begun to just simply not care anymore.

2023.06.10 05:29 Throwaway_nothing0 My asthma has been getting worse, but the doctors keep dismissing it as nothing.
I've had extremely mild asthma most of my life, as in using an inhaler once a year. During winter, my asthma started getting worse. As in, I needed the inhaler everyday, I woke up with a wheeze nearly everyday. Every doctor I've been to has acted like it's nothing to worry about. They tell me it's normal. I have a rescue inhaler, I take montelukast and levocetrazine every night. It's now summer and they said it would improve, but if anything, my asthma has been getting worse. I now have a chronic cough, I'm sensitive to environmental factors, my allergies are so bad, that even with the max dose of my medications I still get symptoms. I now cough a lot whenever I'm around smoke.
I have pretty bad anxiety, and it's scaring me. I've had 3 different doctors tell me that since I'm young its probably nothing. They haven't done any tests, just listen to my lungs and send me on my way. I've been around second hand smoke my entire life (tobacco and cannabis and the people in my house smoke blunts daily), and I've smoked cannabis since my teens (not so much anymore as it triggers my asthma) and they tell me that's why. I'm wondering if it could be more serious? Sometimes the inhalers don't work and I have to sit outside and take deep breaths until it stops. My paternal grandfather died of lung cancer.
Relevent information: 28F, 5'10, around 180lbs, white, wellbutrin xr 350mg, I also take a otc zinc pill, vitamin b12, melatonin. I smoke cannabis a few times a week.
